I have been caught speeding doing 83mph in a 50mph. The ticket stated that I was speeding at 4am, to which I wasn't on the road at that time. It was actually 8am. I have now been summoned to court. Should I plead guilty or not guilty? Can I win this case? Thanks

A minor error on the ticket which has not caused you any confusion (you know when you were actually stopped) will not give you any defence. Even if it was to be repeated on the summons (is it?) it could be corrected.

In your case, a ban is highly likely. Your alleged speed was 66% over the posted limit. The length of the ban can vary between 7 and 56 days but could be longer if you already have points on your licence. You cannot get a ban AND points. The fine can be up to £1,000 (or £2,500 if the offence took place on a motorway).
