My stepson left home about 18 months ago. Since that time I have had numerous problems with various companies within the Lowell Group.

I have sent all the standard letters out (many thanks to CAG) about telephone calls, doorstep callers etc. I have informed them on at least six occasions that my stepson does not live here.

In July of this year I sent a very stiff letter to Ms De Tute about their failure to stop their harassment. The debt was nothing to do with me. I received no reply but the telephone calls stopped.

This morning I received a call on what looks like a mobile phone number from Lowells. Basically I cannot print what I replied but one of the words was off!

I have kept a record of phone calls letters etc and having Spoke to the I.C.O this morning I will be making a formal complaint.

I also spoke to the Financial ombudsman who kept asking me for account/reference numbers which I could not supply.

I have also tried to contact the OFT

Is there any further action I could take because at the present time i feel I am going around in cycles.

Did you not receive a reply to the complaint to Ms de Tute?

If the letter you sent was just a 'harassment' letter write again in the same tone but head the letter Formal Complaint

This must be then investigate and a response sent within 56 days.

Any Letters I Draft are N0T approved by CAG and no personal liability is accepted.

Thankyou Brigadier, I sent the letter as a complaint. This one will have FORMAL COMPLAINT written across the top in big red letters.

I have not had any reply from the other letter.

I had post to my address regarding someone who had never there. Several letters by recorded to Lowell CEO were never responded to. It was only about a year later, when someone from Lowell complaints department confirmed that my letters were just filed away and ignored, because they did not want to respond to a third party. In the end they wrote off the relatives debts and paid me compo.

We could do with some help from you.

Thank you for your reply, I just want the telephone calls to stop. Compensation did not cross my mind but I now believe that the only way to make them stop is to actively seek it.

Ofcom, complain to them about the misuse of their communications network.

As for lowlifes, short of ignoring the puerile creatures, then by all means take a copy of their harassment down to your local cop shop and file a complaint against them for the criminal offence of harassment, then if the persist, take the little boys and girls to court.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

I already have a crime number. I deal with one element of Lowells and stop the telephone calls. At that point a member of a different company within the lowell group starts ring. I have recorded a number of my conversations with them and they have promised to remove my details.

IMHO, you should write to Lowells' Head office/Registered address and demand they instruct their sister groups (Red and Hampton Legal) to remove your details from their data base.

I was in this position earlier this year, I contacted the ICO and made an official complaint, the result no more calls, I did this via email and a direct call to them, I received a letter from the DCA stating that all numbers would be removed this was done, I have had the pleasure of zero calls from the said DCA, an apology from them the whole sorry episode from complaint to resolution with them and the DCA was just 36 hours.

It works but it may not for others, just be confident in when you speak to the ICO they DO listen and HELP

MM

If I have been of any help, please click on my star and leave a note to let me know, thank you.

I spoke to the ICO who told me to write again to the DCA concerned. If no joy then I was told to make a complaint to them.
