I am asking for a bit of advice here. Yesterday I discovered I have a CCJ on my credit file which was issued in April 2013 on the file,

however it has been issued to my previous rented address as I have now been living in my own home for the past year.

I have no idea how and why I would owe money to anyone as I have made sure that all my previous creditors are paid off.

It states that I owe £670 for which I am clueless.

My question is being as the CCJ has been registered at my previous address and I have not had any formal letters

from a creditor stating that they are taking me to court where do I stand with this?

How can I get this removed from my credit file if I knew nothing about the summons ... any advice would be great.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks I have just wasted £10 to find out all the information that Credit Expert gave me. It shows that it has been registered at my previous address of over a year now and what court and reg number it has been registered at. This does not help me so I refer you to my original question.

You need to contact the court that it was issued from - request all the paperwork in connection with the Judgment, then apply to have it set aside on the basis that:

a) You have discovered this via a check of your credit files

b) Paperwork had obviously been sent to a previous address so you did not receive - had you done so you would have defended on the basis that..

c) You have no knowledge of any outstanding debt.

Once you have had the Judgment set aside, then you can demand that the entry on your credit file is removed.
