It could be because about 60% of POPLA appeals are coming down on the side of the motorist, and every one of those appeals have cost the PPC £27 plus VAT. So if you appeal they might as likely cave in. But (and this is a big but) many motorists will pay up without question when they receive a parking charge notice. This figure has been estimated at anything between 30% and 50%. So it's still a good little money earner for the parking companies.

I got an invoice from a PPC, I was looking forward to making them pay a POPLA fee so I sent an appeal to the PPC claiming there was no valid contract and they wrote back saying they will not be chasing anymore and will write it off.

 

Which company is this please?

 

Also - all the more reason not to ignore
