money store/Platform Mortgage Loans PPI reclaim

Recommended Posts

I took out a mortgage with the Money Store in 1999 and it was transferred by them to Platform Funding Limited later in 1999.

Although I wasnt self employed then the Mortgage ppi was just added to the loan £1,825.80,

I was never asked if I wanted it and it was an upfront payment.

As a few months later I paid the mortgage off and subsequently the mortgage ppi.

Is it too late to request the ppi back.

I have the mortgage account number and I understand Platform is now owned by the coop?

Who would you contact?

give 'em a ring and ask.

Only a letter saying the loan had been transferred to Platform from the Money Store and the account number, nothing else. Should I send the SAR to coop or because its so old I bet they wouldnt have the paperwork?

Had a Money Store mortgage which after 2 months was changed to Platform

but think it was the same company, same address.

There was upfront ppi on the mortgage which I am trying to claim but it was 1999 so not sure if will have any luck.

I think I have read somewhere you can claim back arrangment fees.

I was charged £900 on a £60,000 mortgage, plus £1800 ppi, so excessive.

Have I imagined it or can you claim arrangement fees?

There is no time limit on which to reclaim the PPI - especially if you have only just recognised that it should not have been applied.

Do you have the paperwork in order to make your claim ? Have you downloaded the spread sheet, or do you need the link for it.

I will try and find one of our PPI guys for you and someone to advise if the arrangement fee can be reclaimed.

Apparently you are outside of the 12 year limit for the mortgage charges.. but ok for the PPI :)

charges outside of 12yrs [mortgage sb limit]

PPI is fair game.

Thank you for that CitizenB.

Yes have the mortgage account number and a letter of what paid from them.

Platform Loans is now owned by the coop apparently but have Platforms address.

Going to send it all off.

I have read if its over 10 years you are normally not succesful with ppi and if its a mortgage ppi they can turn round and say they are allowed to add ppi as its part of the mortgage plan.

Will have a try though.

I have an arrangement fee on another mortgage, think it was GMAC which would be within the 12 year limit.

Is there any particular letter you have to send to them?

Any ideas regarding which letter to send?

I had a morgage with Money Store in 1999 after a month it was Platform who coop now own.

It was a ppi payment upfront of £1800.

I only kept the mortgage for about 9months and then paid it off.

Do you think you can get mortgage ppi back?

I never asked for it it was just applied to the loan papers.

I worked in the NHS at the time and would have received 12 months pay if off ill so wouldnt have wanted it anyway.

Can anyone tell me how I work out the percentage over 9mths that is the ppi part of it for the spreasheet.

Sorry to be thick but dont understand how you do it.

Ims helped me with Southern Pacific loan spreadsheet, wonder if you could help me with this one?

I had a mortgage with The Money Store in 1999 and this was taken over by Platform Home Loans in 2000.

Looking at old paperwork I had MPP for a payment of £1825.80 for a 5 year period.

I didnt know what it was and it was certainly mis-sold.

I have the mortgage offer and the Pinnacle Insurance certificate and all the relevant account details.

I have read recently that I wouldnt be able to claim as it is too late and if The Money Store was the broker and now no longer trading the fsa wouldnt be able to help either.

Any help would be appreciated before I start a claim on line.

Thank you.

Hi dx100uk

I had forgotten I had posted in 2012 to be honest.

I had quite a few queries about ppi and got mixed up with this one and another old ppi which you kindly helped me with.

I think it was just put in the bottom of big box and forgotten about

I have been going through all my old paperwork and found the old Platform, Moneystore folder yesterday

After reading the artlicle about not being able to claim just thought I would check before I throw it all out.

Could you just tell me how I find out who the underwriters are?

I  havent asked them but someone told me because its pre regulations it wouldnt get anywhere with it. If I ring the coop  helpline would they tell me if it was worth applying?

oh it worth applying yes.

but your target will be the underwriters of the PPI insurance policy as no-one else at that time would have been regulated.

they would have been under GISC or API insurance rules.

so check all the paperwork carefully.

there must be clues there.
