Hi to all,

New to this site-

one I wish I'd have seen last year.

although relieved to know that I am not alone.

Foolishly got into the same situation of needing a loan from them last year.

At first everything seemed fine, I had an issue with my card, they were reasonable and waited, or so they said.

Then I find, that there has been 7 payments of £58.60 to them from my bank

- original loan was only £150 so as you can tell,

wayyyy more than the loan plus any amount of interest!

went round and round in circles with them, but gave up and thought that was the last of it!

( got quite a tidy sum off my grandpa couple months later and set to paying off my debts!

still nothing and presumed all was well.

I have since been getting messages saying that my account is in arrears blah blah!

I've changed my card and bank account details so no bother there.

My response has been to tell them that have a solicitor and I would like written evidence,

until then I will be doing nothing. I will await!! ( sorry for the long winded tale!)

No need to threaten legal action yet. Just send the prove it letter to them.

I've tried that! the saga continues- text messages etc! I doubt I will even need the solicitor now I've submitted the evidence, not holding my breath as they say that those amounts were just the interest ( loan was 2 weeks late!) even thought the amounts were clearly just helping themselves to what was left in my account and more than covers the loan and costs!

If the creditor doesnt abide by that prove it letter, then send full complaints to the regulators, and also trading standards.

Thanks Renegade for that! I have an entirely new bank account/card and I am moving for a new Job- I am hoping that this is the end as my loan has been paid more than in full, however, I feel that it's the begining of another saga!

I too have started getting text messages threatening to enter a default on my credit file.

i was borrowing from CFO in 2009 and roilling over for several months. i ceased paying in early 2010 after paying several payments of £20. i am sure the original debt must have been paid and i heard nothing for 2 years! they also committed a serious Date protection breach by chasing the debt via my brother on his work email!

Do i send the prove it letter or is there any further action i need to take?

Obv i do not want another default on file.
