Hi,

Has anyone tried using the DWP wesite to complete a claim for Carers Allowance?

I have been trying to complete the online application for the past two days and it just keeps freezing.

I've tried accessing it using my sons laptop too and it still freezes, so it must be a fault with DWP.

Can anyone get back to me because I am loosing the plot:evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:

Thanks xx

Hi, I did the on line claim for CA a week ago, it kept crashing and I had to keep restarting, finally finished it, but as you have to send in signatures you may as well get the paper form and fill that in, had to do it anyway, so the on line is a bit of a waste of time really.

It makes me wonder if this is just another obstacle that DWP use to frustrate people into giving up.

Thanks for your input though xx

I did the claim for DLA online and I dont remember having to send in a postal signature is odd.

But I did a realise a big downside of doing it online and thats when they contacted me 2 weeks ago telling me they had no evidence because of course I didnt send any in as was done online, I had a medical today at home so showed all the evidence to the doctor and hoping its sufficient.

getting signatures could be just for CA, as they need the signature of the person you care for, as they need to look into the other persons details, and to confirm they are ok with your application to be their carer, as it could mean they loose some of their benefit. that's how it was explained to me.

All claims for benefit completed on line or over the phone have to be signed, the signature is a declaration that everything stated on the application form is correct.

And to prevent fradulent claims.
