A finance company has apologised to a County Antrim businessman after sending him a letter offering condolences on his death.

Creation Consumer Finance sent the letter to Rasharkin man Peter Baird.

It read: "Creation Consumer Finance regrets to learn of the death of Mr Peter Baird. Please accept our condolences at this time."

Despite commiserating on his supposed death, the letter was addressed to Mr Baird.

HMRC are just as bad. Many years ago I had just moved into a property where the previous occupant had died intestate and with no known relatives. The Council & Coroners l were dealing with his affairs & the HMRC had been notified of that fact on numerous occasions yet they insisted on sending letters to a Mr Harper (deceased). :(

Mark Twain, upon reading his obituary in The New York Journal, wrote this: "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated".

Before you criticise another man you should first walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you criticise him, you'll be a mile away and he won't have any shoes on.

Don't get me confused with somebody knowledgeable by all those green blobs. I got most of them by making people laugh.

I am not European, I am English.
