Hi, Past due are trying to collect an outstanding BT bill at a previous address that I know closed with a zero balance. I'm not worried about this but in looking up past due I can't find their consumer credit licence on the OFT register nor on the ICO data controllers register. Are they operating legally?

£14.95 for a months membership?

:jaw::jaw::jaw::jaw::jaw::jaw::jaw::jaw::jaw:

And, to add insult to injury, you have to hunt to find out how to order your £2 stat report and then wait 4 days to view online????? I'm tempted to SAR them every time I want to view my credit report, it would be cheaper than the membership :mad2:

Cheeky beggers!!!

And to think, those who need to view their credit files are probably doing so because of debt issues.

  • 2 months later...

Past due contacted me several months ago in regards to a BT account that was closed in June 09. I paid my final bill and in July received a refund of £25 for overpayment. I contacted BT who told me it was a mistake and they would instruct Past due accordingly. I've had no further contact until today when I received an alert to say that Past due have carried out a search. As far as I'm aware, Past due have not got my permission to search my file and does equifax not have an obligation to protect my data from unauthorised access?

I would like to take action over this and would appreciate advice on how best to proceed :mad2:
