Hi Guys and Girls,

Yesterday afternoon my email account was

hacked a fellow Cagger received an email from

my account asking for money, please be aware

those of you have my personal address and

check for anything unusual occurring.

I am unable to utilise all of the facilities

of the forum as a newby again.

If there is a member of the site team/admin

on line is there any way of transferring my

status/rep to the new user name please.

You need to ask the person receiving the email for a full header printout and see what email address lies underneith yours. If the route of the email is traced this way, you will more than likely find it originated in some third world country.

longer accessible I cannot seem to be able to

recover it.

I don't think your old account on cag would have been wiped - just disabled while things were sorted.

 

As it's been shown that it was not an issue with the cag site, they may be able to arrange for you just to have new password and settings.

Hi, the whole Bl**dy e-mail account has gone T*TS up

Martin disabled your private messaging in your other CAG a/c until you got things sorted. AFAIK there's nothing untoward at this end so it seems as if it's just your Hotmail a/c that was compromised.

 

There shouldn't be anything preventing you reverting back to your other a/c. To make sure log-in to it and change your password & email.

Brig - it was not just BA who got the spoof email - it was all of us. Just to explain - the Brig gave us an email addy as he was acting as a Court Buddy for a fellow Cagger and it was that email account that was hacked. In future, I would use Gmail not Hotmail but I do not think it was a CAG problem. CAG should be able to restore your original user account if you give them a new email addy. I have a copy of the offending email (in my spam folder for safe keeping) and it obviously was not from you, it was not signed with the name you use.

Google Chrome and permanently logged in.

Hi DX, There seems to be no trace of the account

through Window , have set up a new account

and it is supposed to link to the old which shows

in the list of linked accounts but does not respond??

I know I'm a useless prat with technology

I kept permanently logged into the old e-mail account

and CAG there now seems to be no way of accessing

the old e-mail account or ability to sign into it.
