Hi there,

This forum has been great to me in the past, and i'm hoping it can be great to a lot of needy people right now. Here's the situation.

One Pro Wrestling, is a company that promotes wrestling the UK. Not with local English lads, but with some big name American talent. They've had a rough few years with new owners coming in seemingly every 4-5 months.

Earlier this year, they announced a show with Shawn Michaels, Vader, and various other names from the states as well as the best of British guys too. It would be their 6th anniversary show. Because Shawn Michaels (HBK) is a legend, they were having him for a few days, for a gala dinner, an appearance on the main show the day after, and a special signing the day after that. People were charged nearly £500 for this, payable in two separate sums. Other tickets ranged from £25 - £60

A month ago, worries were brought up when the venue claimed the show wasn't going ahead and anyone who payed them directly was given a refund. 1PW claimed this was an error, and it was going ahead. The venue stopped refunds but wanted an explination. none came.

Worries also came when it was rumoured the HBK deal was off. Again, 1PW said this was wrong. There were issues but it was all sorted out.

Today, they closed shop and ceased all future events and claimed refunds could be obtained through paypal at a specific email address.

Here's the issue:

1) They said anyone who payed the first installment of the large sum only would not be entitled to any refund, as it was non-refundable.

2) The email address they gave was for the former financer of the company, who quit two months ago and who has not got the email linked up to any paypal account (it was frozen whilst he was part of the company for having too much money going through a personal account)

3) the owner wont respond to any queries, and whilst he is still joking around on facebook talking about getting ****ed up and all sorts, will not reach out and help any of the punters who are now hunting refunds.

What options are open to those who are out of money now? It seems that all money was handled personally by the owner, and none went through any business account, just personal emails, is this legal for such a large company? Should the non-refundable part now be fully refundable, since they cancelled the event?

Thanks for any help
