i sent a no telphone calls template letter to a creditor (jacamo/dw williams) last week. since then the telephone calls have gone from daily to 3 per day. what can i do? i sent a second letter off today recorded delivery and have a log of the dates they called this month 13 since june 1st (its only the 15th). but like i said this week they seem to have stepped it up a gear with three calls in the last 2 hours. they said that if i refuse to speak they will just ring until i do. any advice?

Harrassment is judged to be very much in then hands of the recipient, what worries one person, may not concern someone else.

 

Report them to OFT and Consumer Direct.

 

I tell them I am stone deaf and cannot talk to them on the telephone. If they keep ringing, have a loud whistle handy and when you ascertain it is them, just blow it long and hard down the 'phone. If you are able, get a True Call, takes all the worry oout of these types of call, plus you can record their threats too.

just now in the last phone call, thats whats got me so annoyed. i have no means to record the phonecalls although in my letters i have told them that im going to. they call to say that they have a 'manager who wants to speak to you' and when you say youre only prepared to communicate in writing they then say that they cant log it so i still have to be put through to this manager. its pathetic. ive started hanging up so when i challenged the last one with the call volumes thats when i was told its because im refusing to be put through. i think that they are playing games personally, its funny how this started sunday when i posted them my letter last thurs.

when/where did they say that? do you have any record of it?

Send them the following letter.

 

Dear Sirs,

 

I have requested that any communication between ourselves is conducted in writing as is my legal right.

 

I have made it quite clear that I will NOT discuss my financial affairs on the telephone and without record.

 

Can I please therefore confirm a telephone conversation with one of your staff today, that you WILL continue to telephone up to 3 times a day until I speak to you?

 

I repeat, I require all communication between us to be in writing in order to protect myself in the event of litigation.

 

I am now also requesting a copy of your Complaints procedure as required by the Office of Fair Trading.

 

Yours etc..

just had a fourth call, this time from a collections agency. to tell me how urgent it is and how i need to make a payment today. its laughable. and for such a small amount too?????

 

citizens b thanks for the letter ill get that posted, and yes they do phone on sundays usually before 10 am too!!!
