Text message from "LCS", debt collectors re a sky debt

Hello everyone, this is my first post here and I do hope it's not in the wrong section etc, but from what I gather the question I have relates to a debt collection company of some sort...

 

Earlier today I received a text message out of the blue (and nothing else, no calls/voicemail etc) from "LCS" instructing me to "please contact 0844 543 9069 regarding my Sky Account" and giving me a seven digit reference number to quote.

 

The only Sky Account I have is a SkyBet account which is definitely not overdrawn or in debt in any way shape or form.

 

From the bit of google searching I've done, I've deduced 'LCS' is a debt recovery firm from the Leeds/Yorkshire area I believe. Has anyone else ever heard of them or had anything similar happen to them? - I've got no idea how they got my number, but this sort of thing is a bit worrying.

If you scroll down the page, you see someone replied with; "I can NOW confirm that this call was from LCS debt collectors of 31 Yorkersgate, Malton. Their phone number is 0844 543 9069 and they engage in illegal practices"

poss a very old sky tv debt.

they are fleecers

just ignore them

 

they are DCA's and have NO LEGAL POWERS..

 

if you type in LCS in our search above

you'll find many other such scams they run.

Many thanks for that reply DX, good to hear.

 

I'm only 22 years of age and have only ever had dealings with Sky the once, with SkyBet. Never had any telephone services or TV packages etc.

I can't fault you there Boo. They seem to like winding the general public up quite regular, be nice to know they're getting a bit back.
