Ok, i bought a dJ mixer 11 months ago Behringer DDM4000 Mixer

Today this mixer has come up with a fault, and i will have to send this back to them, unless it fixes itself while it is currently unplugged, but who pays the postage? their customer service page customer services says that is me who is to pay the postage, is that right?

Thanks a lot

Ultimately it is the seller who is responsible for postage on faulty goods.

When you send it back insist on recorded delivery.

Any items after this period will need to be returned to us at your expense.
What they are saying above is incorrect and should be brought to the attention of trading standards.

It's always worth remembering that trader's policies do not necessarily follow and comply with your statatuory rights. So even if they are in the small print it dosn't make them applicable.

Welcome to the site.

This is not a bad mixer.

I take it you use Soundlab gear as well ?

Ok good.

I use the powered Behringer mixers.

The early Behringer mixers suffered from bad faders-but they seem to have fixed that now.

Although they are designed in Germany-they are made in China with pretty much mostly Chinese components-as are Kam Numark and most of the rest.

As for the original question - if you wanted the item repaired, YOU would have to deliver it to them or their service agents (or thew shop your bought it from). Once repaired under warranty, THEY would be responsible for paying the return delivery to you at their expense.

As for returning it by 'Recorded Delivery' - only if it was worth £44 or less. You remain responsible for its saafe return. IOf it got lost on the wat, it is your courier who should recompense you - so you would need to insure it for its full value in transit, so this would be 'Special Delivery'.

As you discovered, the 'repair' was under your control - so the expectation of a free collection and delivery service for 'no fault' returns is the main reason most firms reject this.
