The Edinburgh-based no-frills long distance carrier Globespan has ceased trading today, and holidaymakers have been stranded as far away as Florida and Canada, not forgetting Spanish destinations.

 

I've used this airline before and found them to be efficient and perhaps the least worst of the no-frills carriers, anyone with bookings fore 2010 is urged to contact their card provider to register a claim for refund.

Just goes to show how foolish it is depending on third parties to provide you with services that would previously have been done at low-cost 'in house'.

 

Firms (like Flyglobespan' get conned into using a third-party processor to take away the 'headaches' and to sweeten the deal, the additional expense is added to the 'processing fee' paid to the card processor - when previously it would have been your bank's Merchant Services.

 

If this isn't a warning to keep your financial processing services under your OWN control, I don;t know what is.
