    • quite honestly id email shiply CEO with that crime ref number and state you will be taking this to court, for the full sum of your losses, if it is not resolved ASAP. should that be necessary then i WILL be naming Shiply as the defendant. this can be avoided should the information upon whom the courier was and their current new company contact details, as the present is simply LONDON VIRTUAL OFFICES  is a company registered there and there's a bunch of other invisible companies so clearly just a mail address
    • If it doesn’t sell easily : what they can get at an auction becomes fair market price, which may not realise what you are hoping.
    • Thank you. The receiver issue is a rabbit hole I don't think I'm going to enjoy going down. These people seem so protected. And I don't understand how or why?  Fair market value seems to be ever shifting and contentious.

    • You can't, but you can (and really should) bring up the point that the lender isn't meeting their legal obligations in selling the property for fair market value. You'll have to do this in court, though.     A receiver is bought in by the lender, not you. If they're a registered insolvency practitioner, you may be able to raise a complaint to the insolvency service but there are no guarantees here. Many receivers are also registered with the RICS and self-regulate so if you know the name of the receiver you can check there, again no guarantees.   https://www.rics.org/surveyor-careers/career-development/accreditations/registered-property-receivership-scheme

    • Hello,

On 15/1/24 booked appointment with Big Motoring World (BMW) to view a mini on 17/1/24 at 8pm at their Enfield dealership.

Car was dirty and test drive was two circuits of roundabout on entry to the showroom.  Was p/x my car and rushed by sales exec and a manager into buying the mini and a 3yr warranty that night, sale all wrapped up by 10pm.  They strongly advised me taking warranty out on car that age (2017) and confirmed it was honoured at over 500 UK registered garages.

The next day, 18/1/24 noticed amber engine warning light on dashboard , immediately phoned BMW aftercare team to ask for it to be investigated asap at nearest garage to me. After 15 mins on hold was told only their 5 service centres across the UK can deal with car issues with earliest date for inspection in March ! Said I’m not happy with that given what sales team advised or driving car. Told an amber warning light only advisory so to drive with caution and call back when light goes red.

I’m not happy to do this, drive the car or with the after care experience (a sign of further stresses to come) so want a refund and to return the car asap.

Please can you advise what I need to do today to get this done.

      Many thanks

    • We have finally managed to obtain the transcript of this case.

The judge's reasoning is very useful and will certainly be helpful in any other cases relating to third-party rights where the customer has contracted with the courier company by using a broker.
This is generally speaking the problem with using PackLink who are domiciled in Spain and very conveniently out of reach of the British justice system.

Frankly I don't think that is any accident.

One of the points that the judge made was that the customers contract with the broker specifically refers to the courier – and it is clear that the courier knows that they are acting for a third party. There is no need to name the third party. They just have to be recognisably part of a class of person – such as a sender or a recipient of the parcel.

Please note that a recent case against UPS failed on exactly the same issue with the judge held that the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 did not apply.

We will be getting that transcript very soon. We will look at it and we will understand how the judge made such catastrophic mistakes. It was a very poor judgement.
We will be recommending that people do include this adverse judgement in their bundle so that when they go to county court the judge will see both sides and see the arguments against this adverse judgement.
Also, we will be to demonstrate to the judge that we are fair-minded and that we don't mind bringing everything to the attention of the judge even if it is against our own interests.
      This is good ethical practice.

It would be very nice if the parcel delivery companies – including EVRi – practised this kind of thing as well.

So mods you have left intact this obvious and none too subtle attempt to obtain members personal details (for what purpose we know not but we can assume nefarious) and then moved all the reply posts warning readers that it was a try on and to be very careful. Any new reader may go and send his or her details. I hope you can see the concern some of us have with this type of action.

You seem to have this fascination with perky and CPS, bordering at times to be obsessive.

You wouldnt be one of the 2 people listed on his website would you ? (you seem very bitter about something)

Open the front door .. theres a big world out there, just go outside and you will find a life with people, go out and socialise a little ... chill out !!

Pleased to see my effort to hold Perky to account upsets you so much. Clearly I will now have to keep things up to upset you a little more. You have been very quiet on the other thread I notice. Has Perky himself had a little word in your ear as I suggested and told you to knock it off? For someone who has no connection with CPS but has posted obsessively on their behalf for days, at all hours of the day and night, telling others to get a life borders on pot and kettle territory. I have a life and make a nice living and do not need to rip off my fellow man to do it. Unlike some I could mention.

Hi, I am new here

I came across this site because I was doing research on a company called 'Combined Solutions' as they are advertising a job on the JobcentrePlus website and I was considering whether or not to send off my CV in application.

The job is for an Office Administrator, Jobcentre website ref. WOL/84958 and they refer to themselves as 'A small fast growing family run business'

The address I was given to write to was:-

Mr. Perkins

Combined Solutions

425 King Street (probably 4-5)

WV1 1ST

From reading various posts on this forum I gather the company is probably Combined Parking Solutions and that Mr Perkins is not popular to say the least.

Please could you give me a brief overview of what he's done wrong.

I'm glad I decided to research this company before sending off my CV as this has happened before - the last job I started was with 2 dodgy GPs who I ended up reporting to the local PCT. Looks like I've saved myself the trouble this time.

I think Employers should have to prove they're not dodgy just as much as the prospective job seeker - it would save us all a lot of wasted effort!

Vanessa

I can't drive anyway so free parking is wasted on me.

I am keen to know more about what he has actually done though.

Have people been given parking tickets when they haven't broken the rules of the signage or have they broken the rules and are annoyed at the extortionate fine?

It doesnt upset me in the least, it is a little sad for one to be so obsessive but if it keeps you happy then who am I to comment ?

As for me ripping people off, hardly - but feel free to comment on that in the open forum, but please keep it civil as upto yet a good exchange of views about wheel-clamping have been exchanged and I would hate to see it lowered into a free for all, slanging match which seems to happen when certain members join a debate.

Vanessa forgive me if I say this but I think you should direct your questions directly to the Mods via PM. I not saying it's the case here & please, please forgive me if I'm wrong but I wouldn't put it past anyone from perky to try & provoke slanderous comment which they can then use to attack this site something which your question seems to invite

Anyway you've read the threads you have done some good research & if you want to know more Google them & the best of luck working for a wheel clamper

Christ you're all paranoid on here!

I asked for facts, nothing more

And did I say I was going to apply for the job?

As for slanderous comment I'd already formed a less than positive opinion of Mr Perkins from reading this site

Not being a car driver who likes to quibble over parking tickets I guess I'm just not one of the gang eh?

Oh and before you slag me off any more, I've also got Asperger's Syndrome, hence my love of researching and desire to find out all the facts but hey when were the actual facts ever relevant in life?

PS I'm not a CPS Troll, I just wanted more information and thought you might find the job ad info interesting

How stupid of me!

Hah, by my count that makes about 20 "obsessives" who deign to challenge the CPS you have nothing to do with (of course you haven't). Or maybe you think we are all one and the same person? But I will let you go as no doubt you have to post a Perky/CPS related message under another ID. LOL.

Get a life .. This person is obviously one of the regular posters to this thread who will do anything to keep a thread at the top as they saw it slip down !!

Words like CPS Troll ... how would someone 'new to this' come up with such a term ?

And as for researching ... yeah right, so in your research you just happen to come across this website and specific thread (which certain people are desperate to keep at the top) and post to it ???

How stupid of me!

The company issues 'fines' for alleged parking contraventions on private property. As the law does not allow for 'fines' to imposed by private companies, the tickets merely amount to invoices for services. Any company can issue another person with an invoice for any amount. Of course, you have no obligation to pay the invoice if it's incorrect or amounts to a fine, so these companies call the invoices 'charges', 'penalty notices' or 'PCNs' so they sound like legitimate fines in order to trick and scare the person into paying.

If terms and conditions are breached, the only recompense is compensation for actual losses through the small claims court. These must be actual damages, not fines of £40, £80 etc.

For example, if you cancel your broadband contract you must pay the remainder of the contract. The law does not allow the broadband company to charge a cancellation fee as that would amount to a penalty.

I would imagine you job would entail

• Gaining new clients ie. new car park owners for you to enforce their property

• Sending out 'appeal rejected' letters to people who respond to you (as there is no 'appeals process')

• Spreadsheets of who's paid, who's not paid, what stage of the process people are at (do they 'owe' £40, £100, £150?)

Personally I would find working for these people deeply immoral.

Excuse me! just where have a I slagged you off. I was very polite when questioning your post which in view of who we are dealing with here I'm perfectly entitled to do.

You join the board from nowhere & your 1st post is to ask us to express opinions about perky who you must know we dislike & who trawls this thread daily......... paranoia nothing a perfectly reasonable suspicion I think.

Also it will do absolutely no good attacking members because they doubt your motives as even if they are wrong such attacks merely serve to reinforce said doubts

You're not doing a bad job yourself if I may say so. But it makes sense keeping things warm while we wait for the transcript! Regards the latest poster frankly who knows and who cares? Everybody should be on their guard not to give Perky, or his growing bunch of non-connected spokesmen, any ammunition whatsoever. Anyone who is interested can do a search and make up their own mind.

Vanessa

I'm not prepared to give you a what could be interpreted as a potentially libelous or slanderous statement but I will provide you some help so you can do some research and make your own mind up.

Have a read of the Private Parking Companies/Charges in the stickies section.

Then do a search for Combined Parking Solutions (CPS) and/or Perky88 on these forums. Have a look at his comments in light of the above guide. Also have a look at the CPS website. (Do a google search for Combined Parking Solutions).

Once you've done the above you'll be in a much better position to judge for yourself the rights or wrongs of CPS and also whether you would want to work for CPS.
