It's better to keep ALL communications with DCA's to letters and snail mail.

I know it's a pain, but you have a better paper trail, should they try anything, allegedly.

Best to use their Fleet address for everything and ignore the Scottish office completely.

I requested CCA in december special delivery ( received and signed for, and also confirmation obtained for postal order ) a couple of days later capquest sent me confirmation letter, usual rubbish account on hold for 28 days while we request info.

Today i received another letter thanking for my recent correspondence, and they are now contacting their client for the info

 

I have just contacted a Labour councillor, and quoted to him the new ammendments coming into force regarding debt collection, he has asked for all copies of my documentation, and my consent to follow this matter through.. he especially liked the part where capquest has given me until 9th april to pay up or they will fast track me into court.

I also CCA'd CQ in Dec with the same on hold for 28 days.This morning i recieved the same letter but with a pilot scheme offer of 50% off bla bla

Thats the same one i got,i wonder if pilot means try it on, and if not successful eject :grin:.. have they threatened you with fast track into court, it's at the bottom of the letter

Their computers must work on a 3 month cycle for churning these out

also isn't it illegal to ask peeps to call a 0870 number?

I got exactly the same from crackquest. They havent a leg to stand on and they know it.

I'm not sure if it's illegal but I got myself one (they're free) and I put the number on all of my letters to DCAs and invite them to call me

Hi all,

 

I have been reading the messages with a great deal of interest since I already have agreements with my creditors in place courtesy of the CAB after an extremely damaging divorce, (both mentally & financially), and incompetent solicitors.

My job has changed and I now find that I can no longer meet the arrangements I have in place and I'm sinking!

I received a letter from Capquest this Saturday to tell me that the account I had with Halifax has been passed to them.

There are instructions to contact them by 02 Feb 2012 and failure to do so will result in my account being passed to HL Legal.

 

I know with what contempt you all and I hold these jackals so I thought I might put this out there and see what transpires.

 

I do plan to write to them. Damned if I'll phone, (although the contributor who installed and 0870 No as their own seems to be a great idea. More on that please!!!
