  1. agree with coniff - always send crossed postal orders so they have to go into the payees bank a/c
  2. You are legally entitled to refuse the credit note - retailers do this trick in order that you have already paid for the item(s) you are giving back, then having the credit note you will feel happy and end up spending more
  3. annpow - I love your "It's all about patient choice, it's not GP's choice!!" Thats classic
  4. steampowered - thanks for the tip! I have spoken to the Environmental Health Team and they have advised the normal procedure for this type of complaint is, they firstly send a letter to the resident advising that they need to clear the waste in their garden. Then we they ask their Neighbourhood wardens to check this has been done. If not we then they take further action. If this is reoccurring problem then the Environmental Health officer will contact the resident directly(WHY NOT THE LANDLORD) and take further action. These timescale given are to allow the officers time to investigate the matter fully and we have to allow them this time as they have other cases to deal with. What a pathetic excuse from the council...how can i respond to this? They are sending out a letter to the NFH instead of coming down to see what is going on because they are scrared of the NFH, then later later they send someone down. This is an appalling response from enviro health - should they not be coming down asap and contacting the landlord to make him aware instead of contacting the NFH who will never inform the landlord who will be left in the dark. How on earth did you get enviro health down so quick to yours? What can I reply back to get enviro health off their backsides and come down asap - they have said they are too busy with workload!
  5. How do I explain to the landlord what is going on at his property without making it sound like a 100 page essay. Can you help
  6. I followed your advice and have just been on the phone to the surgery I asked the medical secretary that I had spoken to NHS online booking service over the weekend and they ask me to ring the surgery to request more choices. This was her reply "Why do you want more choices whats wrong with the hospital you have" I told her I wanted my surgery at Ramsay's network of hospitals she said "well I will have to speal to the GP and see what he has to say" I told her its my legal right to choose where I want my surgery. She was not happy at all and was insisting I go to the NHS Hospital which has a bad reputation in the area. I suspect she will ring back and fob me off saying she has spoken to the GP and the GP says NO! I am now going to make an appointment with the GP and explain I want Ramsay's network of hospitals for my surgery...its my legal choice I cannot be forced to have surgery at a place where I am not happy and don't feel comfortable with. If this escalates then what shall I do? The medical secretary was pathetic in her response not helpful at all - she wants me to go to the local hospital which is a no no no...I want to go where I was referred last time for the same surgery which was Ramsay's network of hospitals.. I can't see why the medical secretary is acting like this...what if the GP says now then what? I'm not going to let this go
  7. UPDATE!!! This is what I have found out re: NFH The house they are tenants in was sold last month at auction to a new private landlord. Now this is where it gets interesting... The auction house were able to provide me with details of the legal firm that dealt with the sale of the house at the auction which the private landlord used to facilitate the sale. I have details of the new landlord and the tenancy agreement the (previous landlord made with the NFH before the house went on sale). Before the house went on sale at auction the previous landlord who was good friends with the NFH extended the tenancy agreement by 12 months (before placing the house on auction, thus giving the NFH a full 12 months tenancy). I have seen that tenancy agreement and there are 2 specific clauses which the NFH have broken 1. prohibits cutting down of trees. (NFH have been cutting trees in their garden which have fallen and caused damage to other properties) 2. the tenants must not cause anti social behaviour or become a nuisance to others in the area. (They are NFH everyone in the area is fed up with them. Police come in and out of the house) I then contacted the legal firm that dealt with the sale asking if their client owned the property and if she did to inform her the NFH have broke terms of the tenancy....they legal firm told me ".......I cannot confirm whether or not I did or did not act for the owner of this property I am unable to assist you further. Re: tenancy agreement, I cannot comment on a document I had not had sight of blah blah blah..." So the legal firm was saying 'we did not deal with the sale....blah blah blah" Then today I get an email from supposedly the new landlord saying the legal firm (who denied involvment in the sale of the NFH house) has told him to contact me....re: her tenants. So basically the legal firm told me porkies...then goes and tells their client (the new landlord)...who then sends me a email. As you say do not speak on the telephone....have everything in writing so I will get a letter sent to him instead of emails How can I pressure the landlord to get rid of the NFH - i'm not sure if he is or is not aware that his tenants are NFH. He bought the house happy knowing it had tenants already in place... What steps can i take to pressure the landlord to get the NFH out
  8. I rang the NHS online booking service and spoke to someone he told me to go back to my surgery ask to see the medical secretaries that are working there and ask them to include more choices for me. the medical secretaries at the surgery stuck up with attitude...what happens if they try to fob me off what do i say to them?
  9. I need to go to hospital to see a specialist, I have the right to choose which hospital I am referred to by my GP. This legal right lets me choose from any hospital offering a suitable treatment that meets NHS standards and costs. My GP has refered me for tests at a local hospital (before surgery for a cyst), and each time I have attended the local hospitals I have come home with an infection, and I am worried about going back to either hospital. Last time I was given a choie of 4 hospitals inc a private hospital with an excellent record (i chose the private hospital to have surgery and it was fantastic) I have booked the 1st appoitmnet at the local hospital (as that was the only choice on the letter) for a few weeks time. But now I do not want to go there for my surgery to the local hospital but want to go to Ramsay's network of hospitals which is nearby this privaye and I was referred here a few months ago - this is where I want to go. Shall contact the GP and ask him I don't want to have surgery at the local hospital and I want to go to Ramsay's network of hospitals because thats where I feel more confident with and there is a specialist there who I saw last time for surgery, I have a legal right to choose which hospital I want to go to and my right is to choose the hospital. Now I have to enter into an argument with my GP to insist on my rights. I am happy with the GP and dont want to have to do this but his reaction has forced me to do this. He is a new GP at the surgery and the letter he sent had only 1 choice and not 3 oor 4 choices I was given when I was sent for surgery a few months ago by another GP at the surgery, I've made a mistake and booked at the local hospital (which I regret it has a bad reputation and is not good, i'm not happy with it) Shall I go ahead and cancel it online and then get it touch with the GP and ask him the othet GP at the surgery referred me to a specialist at Ramsay's network of hospitals who removed my last cyst and this is who I want to see. I mean I was not even given a choice on the letter that came with the NHS online booking system. The GP is new to the surgery and looks like he choice the nearest hospital to my home which I do not want to go to. Shall I cancel the online appoitment and contact the surgery and make an appoitment with the GP and request that he send me to Ramsay's network of hospitals? The receptionists at the surgery will just try to fob me off if I ring them. I am having sleepless nights knowing I have booked at the wrong hospital (where I don't want surgery) I am going to cancel that appoitment and ask the GP to send me to Ramsay's network of hospitals where I had a previous cyst removed, what of the GP tries to fob me off?
  10. This family has brought sheer hell to the neighbourhood and needs to be take to account the metal dealing is the last straw. If I remain silent then tommorow it can be any house in the area, its needs to be nipped in the bud now. lots and lots of men visit the NFH house she always open the door with a robe every single time, she could be selling sex perhaps and making from that as well?
  11. As a matter of principle I want to make an official complaint re: this consultant as he has lied through his teeth re: my performance was not upto standard. If this were to be true (which it is not) then at no point at my time was the issue of my performance ever brought up. This consultant is simply upset I was able to leave the last hayes assignment before his friend (the team leader at that bank) was able to sack me. He says this team leader said my performance was not upto standard BUT then 2 years later he offers me a job at the same job! The consultant is lying and I have been informed has been having relationships with several staff he has recruited for the bank in exchange for giving them a job there...now is this professional?
  12. good idea! I believe it is not legal to run this kind of buisness on his premesis. He would need a special licence, and more appropriate premesis, such as a yard on an industrial area, bought or rented, or a workshop. The landlord is aware his tenants are removing materials from skips in the area without the owners consent is also classed as theft. The tenants are making money selling the scrap metal which is fraud if they are signing on,
  13. they are picking up metal from peoples gardens without their persmission (which is theft) as well as their friends breaking into gardens and homes for metal when the houses are empty. nobody else would do this day in and day out
  14. what good can they do this has gone on for close to 6 months...the poor elderly lady that lived next door is in a nursin home the shock it was her own neighbours that this did ruined her health the poor lady.
  15. The metal is stolen without any doubt it comes on a daily basis through a field behind the home men just dump it in the back garden. they have vdus, hoovers, bikes....the full works
  16. my neighbour is getting deliveries of stolen metal from the area i live in and is stacking the stolen metal in his garden on a daily basis. Several times a week a van comes which takes this metal taken away to be sold on. there is a large field behind my neighbours house so most of the stolen metal is delivered across the field under the cover of the field and trees straight into the neighbours back garden and stacked up and sold on. the neighbours are responsible for many break ins in the area...they have 2 or 3 familes in the same street who are all in it together. They broke into the house next door and stole all the copper piping in the house - stripped the house bare. The poor elderly lady whose house it was was on holiday at the and came back devasted. It effected her health so bad, she was scared in her own home and is now in a nursing home knowing her neighbours broke into the home. The home is for sale and the neighbours have broken into the home around the back and gone in through the patio door and stripped the home bare of all metal again. what can be done to stop this activity from happening...the neighbours are renting the house from a private landlord and the landlord is aware of what is happening but allows it to happen. what steps can i take?
  17. If you are agency you are not under any obligation despite what the agency tell you to give them 1 weeks notice. They never give you 1 weeks notice when your job ends. Your not legally obliged to give "1 week notice" and in some cases you could be offered a job that starts middle of the week, how do they expect you to give the "1 week notice". You can leave when you like
  18. It seems a hays recruitment consultant has a personal agenda/vendetta against me...he promised me a job when my last job ended a few months ago working for Hayes. I worked to the best of my ability did my job, never missed a day and the team leader told me she was happy with the work and a big thank you for my help when I left. Background info I was called to see the consultant and told "today is your last day the work has dried up there is not enough work for you anymore....but you can apply for other positions in the new year...." At no point did the consultant mention my work was not upto scratch or I was not performing well. I was told the work had now finshed and I could apply for new positions at the same company in the new year. my team leader said to me ....you have done a wonderful job thank you for everything blah blah blah Present time In the new year....when that same consultant is now recruiting for the positions (over (200) he told me to apply and I could start in the new year. So I go and apply... I speak to this consultant a week after my online application he fobbed me off telling me my "performance was not upto standard blah blah blah on the last 2 assigment for Hayes your not suited for the job. I cannot put you foreward for any positions at all in the future (at this particular bank). Your manager from 2 years ago told me your performance was not upto standard and your present manager also said the same" There was never a problem with my work at all...I was always told I was doing the excellent. This consultant was siding with the manager from 2 years thats where his loyalties lay. She was not neautral buy biased, the consultant was not acting in a professional way. I was left gobsmacked...he told me on my last day before xmas to apply for this position (the position he had just told me he would not put me foreward and he made up lies concering the last 2 managers feedback about me. He told me I would be starting in the new year and now he was telling me the opposite! (One of my friends was told to leave as she was not meeting her targets..and the consultant took her back on as well as other people who were told to leave for not doing their job correctly) I asked my manager for a reference on my most recent job and she said "yes no problem". I then asked her I had spoken to the consultant who said you had told him my performance on the job was not upto standard. She did not answer. Background history To cut a long story short...I worked for Hayes 2 years ago on an assigment for 6 months...towards the end of my time at this bank... the team mananger who was a scheming cow was looking for any excuse to sack me, she was power tripping for no reason. Everyone in the department hated her. I was lucky to find another job in the same week that she was going to sack me (i found out through the grapevine about this). So I left and started work elsewhere...i did not give the one week notice as my new job was to start the same week I left (the week I was supposed to be sacked). 2 years later I applied for a position which the same consultant (who I had worked for 2 years ealier) has posted online. He told me xyz manager at the same bank had told her my performance was not to standard and I was struggling with the work (which was a lie...xyz manager only said this to the consultant because I managed to leave before she could sack me) The consultant found me another job at the same place....that ended before xmas and he told me I would be starting in the new year, but now he says no no no for made up reasons above. Yet the consultant is taking on people who are not able to do the job simply because he can get commission for all the people he signs up for the new project at the bank. But with me he is taking a personal vendetta. Now what action can I take against this consultant and have him reported to someone senior at Hayes...so they realise this consultant is acting in an vindictive manner out of hate and other reasons known only to himself in collabration with the managers at the bank who will back up his lie of a story re: "performance not to standard" My friend is a witness and knows its all a pack of lies, this consultant is has a problem and issue with me. I have also found out he was having relationships with some of the staff he had recruited at the bank as well. This particular consultant needs a real dressing down and needs to be sacked.
  19. Hello Forum I feel so lucky to have found this forum...I will try to help as best as I can and hope you can like do the same for me Gabrielle
  20. The house is on rent.. I moved out and back to my parents due to the NFH. I can never go back there again . I simply do not feel safe living in what is supposed to be my own home! SOCO did not come and the police did not take finger prints because they are scared of the NFH. It really is that bad. The tree surgeon has said the tree belongs to the LL of the NFH...insurance has taken it away. Fencing I have to do myself asap! - shall I repair it and send the LL the bill?
  21. When I bough the house there was no fencing and I had the NFH walking at all hours of the day into my back garden in and out all day long...smoking and drinking. So I paid to have the entire garden fenced off cost me over £1200. Once it was fenced they smashed down 1 fence so they could come into my garden as and when they wanted, i repaired it. They broke my window, threw dirty nappies into my back garden....etc and to this day they are still throwing litter. I had my house broken into they stole the boiler (it was only then that could enter my back by climing the fence) they would not enter the garden from the front side as there are houses facing me. The problem is the back garden - there is a field behind my house all criminals use that to walk into the NFH garden. PCSO's have done nothing to help
  22. The tresspassing has been going on ever since I bough the house which has been 5 years now...I had all the fencing done to keep the NFH out the rear garden. So they simply walked through my front garden and into the back garden! They broke the window at the rear of the house, then they broke in from the rear and stole the boiler for scarp metal. I know its them and only them. They do it around the rear of the house as nobody else can see. In over 5 years the police have not taken any action to get the NFH removed - the police acknowledge the NFH have a history of criminal activities - so why not have them removed? The PCSO's never go around to the NFH due to fear, it is their job to deal with it but they are too scared. The NFH have a few other houses in the area and rough as hell.
