your the first person i have spoke to on here that has worked in recruitment. you got a job like not recruitment anymore? did you find it hard or easy work? do the nurses actually earn much?

well i have just contacted the company as an Inquiry to check if there vacancy was still Available and the person on the phone told me to hand a cv in to store and i said what about the website that it advertised on they said just ignore that your better off putting a cv in. so think i might just delete my account with the website i applied for the vacancy on as if a company telling someone to ignore it and just hand a cv in then.

i have just written to the website as to why the vacancy i applied for the date posted as changed to today and was changed few hours ago. why do websites do this? surely when a job gets advertised that day it shouldn't get changed everyday.

this is not via job centre they don't have the vacancy up this is via a retail website. but to be honest if you make a career website on your site then they should be using it that's my opinion . but i can see your point.

why would a company like bright house use another website to upload there jobs when they have there own job career page on there website but they jobs they have up for areas around me on other website aren't on there own website? surely you would use your own website to upload your vacancys?

ye just noticed that there. just trying to look for people who have had interviews with them or even when i applied for them when they get back to you if your successful or not. I Applied for the vacancy just incase my advisor asks me to cause if they find it when am in they will no doubt tell me to apply for it. why do they put jobs up like sales advisor and some place them and then you look down below the sales advisor and it says another place is which the job actually is. confusing. but anyone that could give any info then would be great.

is it an American Thing Yes? i really don't agree with it you never know these days what could happen to that video you do for them. but just spoke to a few people who said why don't you do a video call but only put like half your face in the video when answering questions because it could just basically stop you getting through and also they don't get to see the whole of you.

people have sent me that soon as you apply for them they give u a link to do a video interview to answer few question instead of going to the store for an interview or a phone interview so they do a video interview to see what they people are like and the answers they give. and also they tell you on there site that if you don't have camera etc get one or go to a place eg cafe stuff like this

that is my issue with video interview even though there a company people know you don't know what they do with that video if they keep it on system or whatever and who looks at it all it takes is someone to hack in to there system and pick up on there videos but not saying people would do it but wouldn't say never. when my adviser goes through my job search online i hope he doesn't ask did you do a video call because i can't say no can i lol? even tho i applied for it by myself . or could say i never received any email.

hi People question is. i applied for a three vacancy few days ago but i didn't notice that you have to do a video interview? i am not keen on doing them am not sure if anyone on here have done a video interview before? but to me am just not a person who likes to do videos and personally prefer to just apply for the vacancy and wait for the reply to an interview. i can't remember getting an email and i have the three email for the i applied for the vacancy and the ref number but there was no other email people say you get to get a link to take you to the video interview.

ye i agree they should do there maintenance after 12 at night so no one has problem with putting stuff up on the site no wonder people complain that they can't put up there job search with starting maintenance at 6pm!

hey folks a friend of mine was in to sign on/ adviser and the adviser told him he hadn't apply for this amount of jobs what he is suppose to and also when the ujm was down for maintenance last month which there was no info on as i couldn't get in to one day last month and the adviser told him he needed to apply for a job a day and they should be applying before the maintenance but he told them there was no info on the ujm website so how could he know this. and if there gonna do maintenance they should start it from 12am so people get to do there job search that day instead of cutting off the website 5-6 hours left of the day! he gave me a list of his job seeker directions let me know if any of you can notice if it says the amount of jobs he has to apply for . I will use jobsite and employer website to find and apply for jobs i can do (daily) I will log in to my universal jobmatch account to find and apply for jobs i can do (daily) I will contact employers directly to ask about and apply for jobs i can do (weekly) I will check newspaper job vacancy sections and apply to those jobs i can do (weekly) I will respond promptly to contacts and notifications from employers and jobsites (daily) I will consider what i need to do to make effective applications to the jobs i find (ongoing) I will ensure i have an up to date CV that i can tailor for jobs i apply for (ongoing)

Hey folks. ujm was down for planned maintenance but they didn't bother to tell anyone as i emailed them last night as i could not get on to my ujm to put my jobsearch up and i got a replied today " You may of been having issues logging into your Universal Jobmatch account, This was a Government Gateway issue, we would suggest that you now try and log into your account as this should now be ok " And then i got"" I am pleased to confirm that it was planned maintenance and not a technical issue "" i wrote to them asking where i could get info on when there next gonna do maintenance and what times are waiting a reply should get one tomorrow! according to some people the maintenance was from 6pm to 3am why would a service people use for there job search and to record there job search start there maintenance at 6pm!!

Hey folks. This is from a person i recently have met and spoken to. the person got sent to 8 weeks work experience from the job centre and they have done the 8 weeks and now they have kept on at there own accord for the past 3-4 weeks now and they never took a day off during the 8 weeks they were there but they are at the voluntary placement for 2-3 days i think the manager has got him down as 3 days a week on the form you fill out. anyway they have took 2 days off since volunteering themselves and when they went to sign on the person who signed the person said so you been there all the time or you had days off which sounded weird he said he had 2 days off and they went did u fill out the form for sickness and they said no and they said well you will need to if it happens again he said why though am volunteering at my own accord a have finished your 8 weeks work placement so you can't tell me what to do if i have stayed on at my own accord am not missing any job center appointments so there should be no need to sign a sickness form and then the sign on person just went sign your little piece of form and that's you. i told him i done my 8 weeks and i have stayed on at my own accord for the past 2 months+ and i have had days off if i told the manager. so surely he shouldn't need to sign any sickness form for days off at a volunteer place?

My friend wants to apply for the company but they don't wanna tell the job centre as they should have no info sent to them if they use there services. they said the vacancy is through the company website but they have advertised it also on jc and others and the company ask you a question if your unemployed for more than 6months yes or no they have been. the friend hasn't had the best of times with job centre and so he don't want the job centre knowing anything. so can they say yes and without them sending the jc information? they are going to do it through the company website if they should.

Hi. does anyone know of any guidance that would help to stop an adviser from contacting an employer for a vacancy someone has applied for on there own and not by a job centre direction to apply for the vacancy. Thanks.

i would like to know as to why a company not going to name them have to inform the job centre because there a partnership. this is the info they have on there application form "we work in partnership with Job Centre Plus and therefore have agreed to notify them of anyone who joins us having used their services. To enable us to share this information with them, please indicate if you have been unemployed for a period of 6 months or more." why is this the only company i have noticed that have put this? when the job is not even on the job centre website?

i signed a form in the jc the day before i had to go for the interview at my volunteer place but other than that i haven't signed another form from the jc. as for been mandated to work in another charity shop an hour away instead of one that is a walking distance because your charity is not on the CWP is crazy but these days what can you do a suppose.

Thanks for the reply. i finished my 8 weeks work experience which i was sent to by jc a few weeks ago and i told them that i was gonna stay on and said 2-3 days a week and nothing else was said never had to fill anything out with them only had to fill out a form with my volunteer place the 2-3 days i would do and i let them know a few days or so before if i have something to do that day and there fine with this. ye should always be voluntary and never mandated working as a volunteer. yeh you let the jc know you are doing volunteer where and what days but other than that i don't know what else.

Hi. i finished my 8 weeks work experience the job centre sent me to a few weeks ago, i have stayed on as i enjoy it. i do 2-3 days a week. my question is tho about taking days off at voluntary . i was having a chat with few people on another forum and they were saying that you only get a limit of days off at the volunteer place you work? but i said how i am voluntry and have finished my 8 weeks so i stayed on at my own accord so the job centre can't do anything as it is voluntary. i was wondering what anyone thinks of it. to me if you have done your 8 weeks work experience and you have stayed on at your own accord the job centre can't do anything if you tell your the place you volunteer at that you won't be in that day surely?

I hope ScreenShots of the 2 jobs i have applied for can be enough evidence. i have applied for 2 jobs a day for the past 2 weeks+ so hopefully backs up, just wish they would do upgrading at 12 and onwards instead of 3 hours or whatever before 12, does anyone know what time ujm started upgrading. someone i spoke to was saying a jcp that is in england there jcp twitter was telling people there was gonna be a upgrade but yet how is that useful for people who live in scotland? and plus i asked someone to check facebook as i don't use it and all they have is that there upgrading that was at 11 but yet that was like 2 hours after it had started upgrading so they don't even puton there ujm that there upgrading which i think is disappointing for people using it and not been told that its gonna be down. sorry if i seem annoying just cant help it.

Why does the ujm not let people know when its going down for upgrading!!? i cant even put what i have applied for today now and when i do it will go down as tomorrow date. and no doubt the advisor will be happy to sanction me for not putting anything down, pi**ed off that not letting people know there upgrading there system when that is what a website is suppose to do inform people on there website!.
