  1. well from next year (January) UJM Is going to be mandatory as Jobseekers will have to sign up, if they don't then they could loose they benefits!! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/9757895/Jobless-to-be-remotely-monitored-by-Government.html#
  2. Hi all, Not sure if this has been posted anywhere as I can't find a topic on this but Just want to let you know what the goverment plans are and this is a stupid idea! The Goverment are stating that people on benefits will be issued with a card to get food and basic items and reduced fags and beer spending! First of all I don't smoke so this won't affect me but I like a drink now and then but I don't drink all the time! second how on earth will I be able to pay my bt bill as I have bt to search for Jobs online and apply online, this is just sick and really horrible what the goverment is doing to honest climants like me as people who play with the system who is not looking for work and like spending they lives on benefits and no intention of finding a Job is making honest climants who gets this card and take it to a tesco store ete so embarrassing and we don't have to put up with this! and if this gets into force how on earth people can pay they gas and electric top ups? as I have a top up meter for both and pay other bills like water? tv Licence? It really angers me this and honest climants shouldn't been made to suffer Here is the link: http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/alexandraswann/100194870/welfare-cash-cards-can-help-reduce-the-benefits-bill-and-stop-people-buying-booze-and-fags-with-taxpayers-money/ What do you think of this?
  3. I agree flumps1976, My appointment after the 21st is on the 4th of January 2013 so I know when is my next appointment
  4. Hi, Antone is correct, I sign on the 21st as well and normally it would have gone in my bank account on 26th but due to been christmas holiday's I will get it on the 21st as when I sign on it will go in my bank account on the same day. that is what the leaflet stated when I signed on 7th and the advicer gived me that leaflet. But please bear in mind even though you will get your payments sooner then normal you still have to attended your Jobcentre appointments because if you fail to turn up you could get sanctioned.
  5. Hi, There is no dress code, people can wear what they want but I got told to remove it and oh btw I meant a few weeks ago not months
  6. Hey all, Just looking for some advice regarding this issue, first of all let me say that I am not causing for a argument. now what it is I wear this slogan tshirt at the work programme (NOBODY KNOWS I'M GAY) but a few weeks ago I got told to remove the tshirt as one of the advicers said that its not setting a good example of getting me back into work, was she correct? how on earth has that got to do looking for work? everyone can wear what they want but I feel its discrimination. do any of you agree? I will not wear the tshirt at interviews obviously but I should be allowed what to wear when I am not at interviews! Just looking to see if you agree with my advicer if you felt she was right or wrong? if she is wrong could I go to citizen advice about this issue? Thanks Regards Shaun
  7. This is what's worrying, at the moment I haven't gived dwp access to my account but it looks like we have to from next year but what is the problem is what if you look for the job and you don't select a reason why you don't wish to apply for the job you looking at and then click back on your browser, could they sanction people this way? I think this is a stupid idea, this is just a trap to sanction anyone and I am dredding if it comes mandatory from next year.
  8. Hi, Just in case no one has read the latest news on universal Jobmatch website well here it is http://www.publicservice.co.uk/news_story.asp?id=21676
  9. Hi Oblivion, I have just been reading your thread and just like to say the outcome is really good news and glad everything is sorted in the end, good luck with your new job as well
  10. Just wondering if anyone could help me regarding Housing benefit for next year! I am currently in a 1 bedroom flat and its from a housing association called (Calico Housing), I moved in on 30th of January of this year and I have been claiming housing benefit since then however I have heard that Housing benefit will be changing from next year and Just wondering will I be affected by the change? btw I am 26 years old! Any advice would be great, Cheers! Regards Shaun
  11. Here is the latest news on the universal credit which comes into force next year ! http://johnnyvoid.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/is-lord-fraud-laying-a-debt-trap-for-benefit-claimants/
  12. Like Flumps1976 stated, you can request a copy of your JSAg but you can't apply for the same vacancy all the time as it will easly get you sanctioned! a friend of mind did this and he got sanctioned for 4 weeks and he was in a mess as he didn't have any money for electric, gas and food so make sure you don't apply for the same Job over and over again!
  13. Anyone else think UJM is rubbish? I do, I liked it at first but I gone of it as there are to many problems like for examples: 1) No Job ref numbers on the jobs 2) No email or apply buttom on some 3) when you apply for the job it expires after a few days (I applyed for quite a few and most of them expired without giving me a response on my applications which is a joke) I wish the old Jobcentre plus website comes back as this is just boring and no Jobs today at all as I have been logging on for most of the day and all the jobs are to far away or jobs that I can't do! who ever create this website is a joke. Ok rant over
  14. If I wanted to could I untick the box where it says give dwp permission to access my account? I am worried about my privacy details and got some good advice.
  15. At the moment my cv is public on my ujm account but if I wanted to could I make my cv private? and what happens if I decided to make it private? could Jobcentre sanction my jsa? just need some advice regarding this before I do it as I read on another forum (not this website) that this guy/girl signed up and made they cv public however a few days ago a unknown employer rang jobcentre to state that they didn't come for a interview however the employer lied as the guy/girl didn't recive a interview date so the jobseeker person got sanctioned So people on here who made a cv public I am just warning you of this and I am thinking of making my cv private just in case this happens to me in the future.
  16. Hi Nimitz, But I have heard that from next year people who are on JSA Will have to create account on UJM to recive they jobseekers, if they don't create account then they will get no JSA, Not sure if that is true or not.
  17. I am confused here, on the universal jobmatch website where you look at a job and if you don't want to apply for it it stats this (or, select a reason why you don't wish to apply for the job) what happens if you look at it and don't apply for it if you don't have the skills and you don't select a reason, could dwp find out? I done quite a few of these jobs as I can't seem to apply as I don't have any credit on my mobile to ring and some jobs stats need own car (that's not good for me as I can't drive) if dwp find out could this cause a sanction for not selecting a reason? I am so worried, I can't even sleep at night due to the stress of this new jobsearch, I am a honest Jobseeker and I always apply for jobs but it seems this new system is unfair on real jobseekers climents. I quite like the new site though as it keeps all the application on the history instead of writing in the jobsearch book, at the moment I applyed for 16 jobs since monday 19th, is that good or bad? also I applyed for loads more on the old jobcentre website as I written them down in my dairy but since the advicer who signed me on yesturday didn't look which is odd.
  18. Well I signed on yesturday and advicer didn't mention about universal Jobmatch also he didn't ask for my job search dairy, why did he not ask? bit strange
  19. Having look at my profile again and if you go down to the bottom people who give permision to dwp to access they account and if they changed they minds you can easly uncheck the box where it says give permision. I just noticed it now
  20. Just looking for advice, when I signed up for ujm I gived permission to dwp to access my account but could I change my mind and decline them? I am a honest jobseeker but I have givin some advice saying its not mandatory and I should't have to give my privacy rights out to unknown people, just wondering if this is possible?
  21. So far I have applyed for 11 applications, is that good? or bad? Just worried as I sign on tomorrow at 10.45am and no doubt my advicer will look in my account as when i signed up I give DWP authorised to check the jobs I applyed ete but I have also applyed for jobs the other week on the old jobcentre plus website.
  22. I can't understand why many of you having problems? it works fine with me, the apply button is always there and when I click on apply it ask me to send my cv with it and when i click it send cv and apply the job goes in my applications history of what jobs I applyed and I clicked on request feedback so just waiting for a response.
  23. Anyone else really like the new job search? I signed up on sunday night and loaded my cv on my account, so far I applyed for 3 jobs as there is not a lot of new jobs at the moment as its really quite Not heard anything as of yet about the 3 jobs and I also requested feedback from them. can the staff at Jobcentre log in my account and check on the jobs I applyed and what if they see I haven't applyed for enough jobs? could they sanction my jsa? its really hard applying for jobs when they isn't any!
  24. Well I have the internet and there is no way I am taking broadband of as I need it for my jobsearch so if this is mandatory then I am safe lol, even though I am on jobseekers I can afford bt broadband and phone as I don't spend my money on drugs, beer or fags as I don't smoke! But the worrying situation is what if people who are on Jobseekers and this is mandatory and what if they have no internet? and who can't afford to go to internet coffee's? or even library? if they don't do this could they be sanctioned?
