  • 2 weeks later...

They acknowledged at the last minute and the moneyclaim site shows that they have filed a defense. Do they take it to the wire?? I suppose that a court date would be months off!!

This whole process just starts to drain you, every day am looking at other threads to make sure that i havent missed anything and the letters going back and forth. its getting me down today!!

cwoj - I started my claim on 17th August - deemed served on 20th - Abbey acknowledged right on the last day (4th Sept) and I received a copy of their defence yesterday + 50% offer (again, on the last day). They will, it seems, take it to the wire with every stage. Jackie

Abbey: Settled - now for no. 2

Dudley Building Society : claim dismissed - no costs

London Scottish: settled in full

Capital One - settled in full :p

Did the defence have any merit? Have you got your court date yet?

Defence was pretty standard from what I can gather around the site. No date for court - I think I'm some time away from that yet. I've e-mailed DLA back and sent letter declining the 50% offer and presume that I now wait for allocation questionnaires, submit, then wait for court dates. Assuming then serious negotiations take place (?), probably a day or two before the court date. Jackie

oh ((((cwoj)))) Keep your chin up. It will all happen at the last minute and it will all be over. Just think what you will do with the money.. and all that extra time!

Abbey - 547.00 settled in full.

Second claim: £204 WON.

Barclaycard - 142.88 incl interest due WON BY DEFAULT as they didn't even bother entering a defence. Barclaycard paid up £184.88.

MBNA - Concluded £634.31

Capital One Concluded £148

Kinda disappointed I've no more banks to go after now...
