LITTLE THINGS MEAN A LOT - 10/09/1954

1 week at #1 - 23 weeks on chart

Blow me a kiss from across the room

Say I look nice when I'm not

Touch my hair as you pass my chair

Little things mean a lot

Give me your arm as we cross the street

Call me at six on the dot

A line a day when you're far away

Little things mean a lot

Don't have to buy me diamonds and pearls

Champagne, sables or such

I never cared much for diamonds and pearls

'Cause honestly honey, they just cost money ..........

:D :D :D

I think she meant a letter, Roo, as in 'drop me a line...' However:

I get no kick from champagne,

Mere alcohol doesn't thrill me at all,

So tell me why should it be true,

that I get a kick out of you?

Some even get a kick from cocaine,

I'm sure if I took even one sniff

That would bore me terrifically too,

yet I get a kick out of youuuuu...

Your killer fact for today

The average ant works a 33.6 hour week, equivalent to 1,750 hours a year- more than a Canadian, but less than an American or a Japanese.

What do ants and Canadians do with the rest of their time? Someone must know.

One of them, a reasonably well known one, is busy seducing my daughter, from what I gather. Can't say for the rest. Canadians, that is, not ants.

THIS particular Canadian, in fact. She ever brings him home for xmas, I am going to find it hard to get that picture out of my head.

Well spotted...

Today's Killer Fact

Carl Lewis and Martina Navratilova are vegans. River Phoenix was also a vegan, though what he gained by not eating cheese, he lost by taking lethal cocktails of drugs.

It is not true that Hitler was a vegetarian, though he was a teetotaller. It's lucky he didn’t drink: it might have made him aggressive.

Are you suggesting that in US an anvil costs $35? Bloody hell, I bet American blacksmiths are stocking up now...

So, what is this anvil you refer to?

LOL - replace all instances of US with NZ...

As you can see from the link, it has in fact now gone up to $39.99 since I posted, what with inflation and all that malarky.

Therefore, you can now only get 17.85 anvils for a gram of cocaine. (Unless, of course, cocaine also increases in line with inflation?)

recreational drugs have only been illegal for a relatively short time, at the beginning of the first world war you could buy a hamper from Harrods in London containing your favorites to send you your loved ones in the trenches :o
