(I know that that's stupidly cheap for a van, but my son wanted to take it apart, and put it to gether again) His address st margarates drive gillingham kent. We live swindon, so over 2 hours away. Sorry I don't know if I'm reading this right, but NSR wheel cylinder leaking NSR Shock mounting corroded  Rear cross member corroded  Rear number plate light missing Brake compressor valve seized Hand break cables insecure O/S Seal to floor repairs are very badly done Dash lights are painted out Bonnet ( This is all he wrote here.) Brake pipes are covered in black doodoo ( This is what the machanic wrote). My son asked Thomas Stone if it would need lots of work, for it to pass its next mot,  Thomas Stone said , " I can't see it needing mega amounts of work, for it to pass, it isn't rotten and it starts and drives ok, and the brakes work well".

      Hello,

      On 15/1/24 booked appointment with Big Motoring World (BMW) to view a mini on 17/1/24 at 8pm at their Enfield dealership.  

      Car was dirty and test drive was two circuits of roundabout on entry to the showroom.  Was p/x my car and rushed by sales exec and a manager into buying the mini and a 3yr warranty that night, sale all wrapped up by 10pm.  They strongly advised me taking warranty out on car that age (2017) and confirmed it was honoured at over 500 UK registered garages.

      The next day, 18/1/24 noticed amber engine warning light on dashboard , immediately phoned BMW aftercare team to ask for it to be investigated asap at nearest garage to me. After 15 mins on hold was told only their 5 service centres across the UK can deal with car issues with earliest date for inspection in March ! Said I’m not happy with that given what sales team advised or driving car. Told an amber warning light only advisory so to drive with caution and call back when light goes red.

      I’m not happy to do this, drive the car or with the after care experience (a sign of further stresses to come) so want a refund and to return the car asap.

      Please can you advise what I need to do today to get this done.

      We have finally managed to obtain the transcript of this case.

      The judge's reasoning is very useful and will certainly be helpful in any other cases relating to third-party rights where the customer has contracted with the courier company by using a broker.
      This is generally speaking the problem with using PackLink who are domiciled in Spain and very conveniently out of reach of the British justice system.

      Frankly I don't think that is any accident.

      One of the points that the judge made was that the customers contract with the broker specifically refers to the courier – and it is clear that the courier knows that they are acting for a third party. There is no need to name the third party. They just have to be recognisably part of a class of person – such as a sender or a recipient of the parcel.

      Please note that a recent case against UPS failed on exactly the same issue with the judge held that the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 did not apply.

      We will be getting that transcript very soon. We will look at it and we will understand how the judge made such catastrophic mistakes. It was a very poor judgement.
      We will be recommending that people do include this adverse judgement in their bundle so that when they go to county court the judge will see both sides and see the arguments against this adverse judgement.
      Also, we will be to demonstrate to the judge that we are fair-minded and that we don't mind bringing everything to the attention of the judge even if it is against our own interests.
      This is good ethical practice.

      It would be very nice if the parcel delivery companies – including EVRi – practised this kind of thing as well.

I bought BB5 phone, locked to T-Mobile. I want to use O2 sim. T-Mobile says will send me the code, the fee is £15. Who gets the fee? T-Mob or O2? Should I have asked O2 to unlock me or T-Mob?

And before I get lots of posts about free unlocking etc: At the moment the only method available to unlock the BB5 phones is by using codes provided from the network. There is no known method to unlock via cable/remotely and the only source of the codes is from the network.

Hi, as the phone was connected to Tmobile, the fee is paid to TMobile and they will provide the unlock code. It can take up to 28 days for them to get this, but it is usually quicker.

 

By the way, earlier BB5 phones will be able to be unlocked from other sources within a few days, but you will still be charged between £10-£15.

Indeed BB5 phones have been a right pain in the bum for unlockers. As complete says some of the earlier ones are now unlockable but unfortunately that does not seem to include yours Joa. Complete is also right in that you will need to pay t-mobile to unlock the phone as they supplied it. Worth mentioning that your new network (O2) tend to supply all their contract phones unlocked. Which is nice

03/02/07 Claim allocated to small claims. Hearing set for 15/05/07. Lloyds ordered to file statement setting out how they calculate their charges

15/05/07 Lloyds do not attend. Judgement ordered for £192 approx, £3 travel costs and removal of default notice

29/05/07 4pm Lloyds deadline for payment of CCJ expires. Warrant of execution ready to go

19/06/07 Letter from court stating Lloyds have made a cheque payment to court

Well, everyone has some kind of speciality knowledge....some know a lot about parking fines, some about grumpy toddlers and some about underwater basket-weaving.

Finally got my code today, and they've promised to credit my account with the fee again as a goodwill gesture due to the fact it has taken so long. Slightly annoying overall, but once again T-Mobile pulled through in the end.

Hello,

 

Just a question though: Is this unlocking fee of 15£ legal?

 

I have been using my phone with T-mobile for more than 20 months now. I had a 18 months contract and now that I am switching over to a different network I would like my old phone to be able to receive different SIM cards. So I need to unlock my old phone but T-mobile says that I need to pay the 15£ fee for it. I don't see why I need to pay anything knowing that I completed my contract with them. So now, after more than 18 months this phone is not the T-mobile property anymore but mine so they should be able to unlock it for free.

Not quite.

 

Your 18 month period was a minimum commitment period for the service (which is only the minutes/texts, not the phone). So although you are outwith your commitment period and can cancel the airtime agreement, it doesn't have any bearing on the handset. It works the other way round too though - even although you have cancelled the airtime agreement, if the handset develops a fault etc you can still take it back to t-mobile.
