Hi,

In the past I've used my Credit card to purchase foreign currency (this incurred a 'cash advance fee'). Can I claim for this as well as the late payment fees etc? Anyone have experience of this?

Thanks in advance!

No, you cannot claim for cash advance fees. These are not penalty charges but more a service charge.

Hi Stan5131,

I just received my list of charges and I'm not sure whether I can claim on the below?? Would you be able to provide any further clarity.

I have charges for :

Posted credit insurance fees ( think this is for cpp)

Posted retail interest

Special cash interest

Posted cash advance interest ??

cpp - this is not a charge but Card Protection Plan.

Interest - all interest charges cannot be claimed as a charge.

However, when you work out your charges and put them on the spreadsheet, you can add contractual interest.

CPP - are your sure this is CPP and not PPI? If its ppi, there are threads on here covering the issues of PPI being mis sold and a very expensive product that most people couldnt even claim on.

To clarify, you can claim

LATE PAYMENT FEES

OVER LIMIT FEES

PPI - if you feel it was mis sold to you (but make a separate schedule for this)

UNPAID DD - If your monthly payments were on DD and it bounced.

UNPAID CHEQUE - If you paid your bill by cheque and it bounced.
