Thanks Flunky and Claire!

Well, I received a letter from Colin:

(Dated: 27Dec06)

Dear Binki,

Thankyou for your letter dated 18 December 2006 concerning bank charges.

I am looking into the matters you have raised and will contact you with a full response as soon as I have completed my investigations

In the meantime, I enclose a copy of our leaflet blah blah blah

Seems pretty standard response so I am going to proceed to the LBA. Only question is:

Should I send to Colin, or to Head Office?

Thanks!

Binki

Well GOOD NEWS everyone! :D :D

I took sugaredhoney's advice and sent one reply to Colin Langsdale and one to HSBC at Canada square

22nd Jan I received:

"Thankyou for your letter dated 14Jan requesting a refund of £520... blah blah ... we are prepared to make a settlement of £464... blah blah

We note that you have added "interest" to your request for a refund. We do not accept this is appropriate and therefore our offer of a refund does not include any interest

So they are paying me the FULL amount (Excluding interest), which I have accepted!!

I look forward to receiving the cheque....

Thanks everyone!!

:-)
