I have a Jaguar XF which has been faultless since day one.

the car is coming up to 3 years old and, as expected, I have been send information about buying an extended warranty for about £700 for a year which seems a lot.

I don't think I will buy the warranty but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Waste of time and money

Not worth the paper its written on.

Always use the wear and tear get out.

Keep it fully serviced.

Is this yours or on finance?

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

Then its not your car. It belongs to the finance company, and all you should be doing is std day to day maintenance, anything else is their problem.

what type of agreement.?

i tip i will give you...

99% of code faults and issues are down to low battery voltage.. replace it every 2 yrs with a leisure agm 110ah regardless. Dont use recommended commercial jag batteries and run a fag socket volt monitor. One of the usb things..  If the battery voltage dips below 12.2vdc after say being parked overnight, before starting, change the battery.

Most jag xf stuff is cheap and easy to fix..whats the year?? Know them well!!

Really great advice - thanks.

I think the agreement is PCP (would need to confirm) i.e. monthly payment and balloon payment at the end to buy the car - which I plan to pay

Its a 2019 2.0D 180 AWD Sportbrake

the dealership and until you pay the balloon - the finance co, will still be legally liable for any major repairs until 6yrs expire under your consumer rights. as long as you can prove the fault was present at birth.

also dont forget jaguar themselves it's only 3yrs old!!

watchout for the rogue grearbox errors , if you randomly get odd issues now and then that seems to increase in frequency dont be tempted to charge the oil/filter! leave alone, change the battery!! regardless to its age!

IMHO you shouldnt need to do anything to protect YOU go forward, certainly dont waste money on utterly useless extended external warranties. between the finance company, the dealership and jag most issues are sorted FOC to the customer.

what i would be doing BEFORE you balloon, is put in in for a full front to back at jag. get a comprehensive report done.

know of 2 only 1 had a diff fault at 4yrs, jag themselves agreed it was their at birth and paid the dealership to fix FOC.

get a good code reader too!!
