Hi Postggj

Just a quick one for you. Do they normally keep agreements at the local branch or at the head office. All my agreements were completed over the phone through their call centre

Romulus

I Take It You Signed These Agreements

The Norm Is The Agreements Are Sent To Head Office Where They Are Scanned And Stored On Computer.

The Originals Go To Storage

Unfortunately yes! thanks

Afternoon all, popping in, Romulus, I am sorry I did nto get back to you about your agreements yesterday...I actually fell asleep at stupid o clock going over them ...but need to ask - you said you and your partner were self employed, is that officially self employed? If so the PPI on one agreement is missold. I can't see anything really out of place on them but had trouble getting the figures to add up? Will have to try again!

Why is it you have to phone them today?

To all regarding the secured loans...dig deep. If you find anything amiss on their submitted paperwork that has cost you anything then it is a breach of section 1 of the Fraud Act 2006, complain bitterly to the registry as they are meant to have checks (sigh)

Hi Dipply

Thanks foir checking these out for me! We are both officially self employed the PPI one must be my partners agreement which we cancelled after the first month but have not had anything refunded yet and was charged the 2nd month again!

We missed all 3 payments this month due to this rubbish economic situation! We had not missed any payments until now. So gutted it had to be to them Bastards. They want me call today to arrange some kinda of payment but alas mortgage due next week so Welcome will have to sing!

They asked me if I wanted to consolidate all 3 for a lesser payment also!

Obviously the consolidation would make financial sense but from reading posts from you guys I don't want to be drawn into a secured loan with these sharks!

However, a new loan agreement would release my car so I could buy a much needed new one as alot of my money is repairs for that heap now. I've spent around £5k on it since I got it! I live in NI so was not purchased from a Welcome showroom.

Sorry going off on a tangent here!

Hi Dipply

Thanks foir checking these out for me! We are both officially self employed the PPI one must be my partners agreement which we cancelled after the first month but have not had anything refunded yet and was charged the 2nd month again! And there is your complaint - wahey! Send them a letter firstly lodging a complaint, ask for their complaints procedure. Complaint is missold PPI, then failing to cancel and failing to amend your agreement to reflect the change. Also send the letter I can give you in a mo thatsays all contact in writing, nothing verbal, you do not gove them permission to visit your home balh ablah.- all recorded, print do not sign.

They want me call today to arrange some kinda of payment but alas mortgage due next week so Welcome will have to sing! Send letter stating financial difficulty, unable to make this months payment etc, can yo make a token payment of £X (do not make this yet, just ask). This buys you time and you have officially advised of you circumstances etc, for future ref ;-)

They asked me if I wanted to consolidate all 3 for a lesser payment also! NNNOOOOOOO!!!!!

Obviously the consolidation would make financial sense but from reading posts from you guys I don't want to be drawn into a secured loan with these sharks! Everyone gets financial trouble, they should be able to help you through this etc, look what they are like with you just once, imagine if they thought they thought they could get security on your house! NO!

However, a new loan agreement would release my car so I could buy a much needed new one as alot of my money is repairs for that heap now. I've spent around £5k on it since I got it! I live in NI so was not purchased from a Welcome showroom. It really is up to you, but can only advise against...:)

Sorry going off on a tangent here!

I would not phone them today just because they are telling you to, send those letters asap and end the verbal with them, I know how they work

Dear Sirs

Harassment by telephone

FORMAL COMPLAINT UNDER THE CONSUMER CREDIT ACT 2006 COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

Account Number: XXXXXXX

I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.

I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)

I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.

I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.

Please treat this also as a formal complaint, and send me a copy of your company complaints procedure.

Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don‘t yet have recording equipment!!**)

Yours faithfully,

Dipply does the missold ppi mean that it shouldn't be sold to self-employed

self employed people should not be sold PPI - it's worthless.

I know someone who complained to DG about this not so long ago and DG 'ordered' Welcome to repay the money - I think that OP is still waiting for his money back though.

Romulus, keep a log of all those calls ....and if you can record at all? hehe

Just thinking about the car agreement and something the great Peterbard advised someone. Hold on....

By Peterbard to another welcome fighter:

Regarding the collection of your vehicle you are right in saying they restricted from doing this without a court order if you have paid 1/3 of the total credit price section 90 of the act.

You may be also awarethat you have a right to return the vehicle and scrap the agreement if you have paid 1/2 of the amount section 100 of the act.

Welcome do not like this but i have done it in the past and it is not easy but it can be done.

Any use?

Thanks Dipply for all your help your a star! Just one more thing-sorry!

I asked for a settlement figure last year on the hp agreement and the figure they gave me back was a joke and in the end I didn't have what they wanted. Do they front load their loans and if so is this legal?

  • 1 month later...

Hi Folks haven't been around in a while!!! Wow so much to catch up on....

I have unfortunately been unable to pay my car loan with Welcome for 3 months now. The money was in the account this month but apparently they cancel the DD after 2 months of non payment. They have sent me various letters which I have ignored as some people do in the hope they will go away..... Anyways back on track now and ready to sort my crap out.

I need the car for work as I'm a driving instructor silly not to pay I know but the mortgage was the priority. They have sent me a WITHOUT PREJUDICE letter too stating they I will be commiting an offence if I fail to comply within 14 days etc.....

Help please!!!! Just want some advice before I contact this shower of Tankers.

Btw I will probably be moving back to London within the next month and may be handing the heap back anyway.....
