Agressive Neighbour - Rats

Hi All,

 

I am hoping for some help.

 

We have a neighbour who is really agressive and insists we have rats in the garden.

 

They get the rat guy out and they say its not them.

 

We get the rat guy out and they say its not us. The rat guy thinks the rats live nder there decking and then runs along the fence of our side and back into their garden.

 

One guy said it was because the drains under the desking are not sealed and the rats are going there.

 

However they are getting really agressive with us.

 

Does anyone know our rights in this situation.

The rat guys who have come to look, are they with the council or someone else please?

The council has an outsourced supplier.

 

They outsource to dial a pest.

 

Rat removal is free for 3 visits. All others are chargeable.

Wait for the neighbour to calm down a bit and speak to them during the week. The obvious conclusion is that no one knows where the rats are coming from and only guesses have been made. I had a rat in my garden once and there are no open drains nearby. I have not seen any since. Perhaps the problem will go away.

There are lots of reports about rats living under decking.

 

The pest control people should be able to find out where these creatures are coming from, I would have thought.

Do they trap the rats and then under interrogation ask them where they have come from ?

 

All they can do is try to look for points, where they might be coming from, seal them up if they can, apply whatever control they can use and see if it deals with the problem.

More seriously, I had the same problem with my decking many years ago so I wouldn't be suprised if your rats were living there. Mine even managed to eat through the brick and enter the house.
