Chinese Language keeps popping up in my browser alongside the searchbar for no apparent

reason.

It is spontaneous, in that it disappears but then comes back.

I have run both Anti-virus and Ad-Aware, both of which have failed to pick it up :|

Any suggestions ?

May not be a virus, but that you have the wrong browser version or a wrong update.

I have several browsers as they play up from time to time. Firefox does not appear to be working properly this morning, so I am using Opera.

Suggest the follow.

1) Instal another browser if you don't have one

2) Then uninstall the browser with the Chinese writing

3) Then reinstall the browser again.

We could do with some help from you.

I had an issue with Steam where going to the Steam Website brought up Chinese characters, wonder if it is anything to do with Google Translate or some other plugin?

We could do with some help from you.

Run malwarebytes in safemode AND disable system restore. No point running it otherwise.

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

could well be a website infection

eg

went to a chinese manu site re a cd/dvd writer, using then IE.

it asked for ch lang pack to be installed, didnt do that.

was then with symantec corporate a/v. it picked up an infection. and as rene says, was also in restore, kept coming back. symantec finally got rid of it.

flyby website (script) infections are sometimes harder to detect than a downloaded infected file, depends how good the a/v is re websites.

also, when checking router firewall logs, looked up an ip re a block. turned out to belong to the ch comm party! why they wld want to get into my pc i dont know :)

Whenever you scan for malware, either run it from a bootable cd so it can run unhindered by the OS locking files, or disable system restore and boot into safemode. NEVER just boot it up and run it blind. You'll catch some stuff, but it's a very bad way to scan your system.

Thanks for the info, but how do I run malwarebytes in safe mode, as I have read on another forum that you should NEVER run it in safe mode unless it absolutley won't run at all.

And how do I disable the System Restore ?

That being said, I really do need to get rid of whatever it is that is causing the problem, as my Facebook Profile is now infected with it!
