Hello all,

I have recently received a letter from Arvato who have issued me with a final reminder to pay a balance related to 1&1 Internet Limited.

I have never purchased any services from this company yet, somehow, I have an outstanding balance of £120!

Can anybody help me compile a letter to dispute this please?

Thanks in advance,

Ignore them. They wont do anything.

Or send a very strongly worded prove it letter.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

I dont think arvato or 1&1 mark credit files. Especially over dubious debts.

!&1 are very well known for doing this kind of thing. I had a run in with them myself 2 years ago.

1&1 are idiots. They operate mainly on threatening people with court actions unless you pay them their fees.

I signed up with some webhosting with them. Within an hour I emailed the billing and support team telling them I wanted to cancel due to the connection being so bad. They insisted I had to call an 0845 number to cancel (50p per minute on mobile). I replied several times telling them to accept my cancellation, since I signed up online, I should be able to cancel online.

They ended up sending some small dept collector firm on to me, which didn't give two s**ts about what I had to say, or the proof I provided. They called me several times a day, the only way to make them stop was to get a freephone number of them, and call them up continuously and hitting redial as soon as they hang up, got to the point they would stop answering the phone at all. They knew it was me, and left me alone after that.

Second the suggestion of ignoring them. They don't mark credit files and arvato are just used as a scare tactic.

I disputed 2 invoices with 1&1 and they refused to accept my reasons. So I cancelled the account and did a charge back for the 2 invoices. This was approved by my bank and 1&1 started emailing me requesting payment again. I declined. They sent Arvato after me. I spoke to them on the phone (Which you should NEVER do) and they, of course seemed, to imply it was a serious matter.

They requested from me a cancellation email which 1&1 never sent. So I started ignoring them. All went quiet after a few weeks and they get bored. I would never touch 1&1 with a bargepole ever again!

This is how I spend most of my life :ranger:
