For what its worth...I think this interview and the stuff going on with your grandson is a coincidence. The DWP do random checks but it really is nothing to worry about. And even if your ex daughter in law has been spreading rumours they will soon be able to see its just malicious gossip as there will be no proof that what she is saying is true.

here is the link I read a few months ago regarding if youv been reported they might try get you off DLA and onto pips,,,,,,,,

Almost as dismaying is the news that, following three Freedom of Information requests, Benefits and Work can now confirm a story we originally published last October: claimants falsely accused of fraud face a strong probability of losing their DLA and being forced to claim PIP instead. In fact, the DWP have stated that even if they know that allegations are ‘false and malicious’ they will still transfer the claimant to PIP if ‘there remains a suggestion that the existing award is incorrect.’

this is why iv been panicking about the interview ??!!

There are some sites for which we do not allow links. This may be for one or more reasons.

The site for which the link is being attempted is one of those sites.

[/i] they will still transfer the claimant to PIP if ‘there remains a suggestion that the existing award is incorrect.’

The point is, people who are asked to be reassessed are in PIP areas and their DLA award has been deemed to be incorrect or needing reassessment - this is what this sentence means.

I was told this is a quick underhand way the for them to get people off d.l.a and to be reassesed for pips and then they dont amazeingly qaulify for pips' date='[/quote']

Technically, as far as I know they can review your benefits claims any time since the recent changes to benefits came into force , in you case

im on top rate DLA for both care and mobility

And

I get esa support group help pay intrest on mortgage severe disability payment!!

You should try and relax until your interview on

my interview is on the 14th april at 10.40 am

Keep us posted on CAG !

Your paranoia is misplaced - DWP staff have no time for 'underhand tactics'. They have to look at all accusations for merit. Even if they think an accusation is malicious, it still might turn out that a person's award is incorrect for their current circumstances, in which case they will be reassessed to see if they still qualify - if in a PIP area then they'll be assessed for PIP, if in a DLA area, then they'll be reassessed for DLA. There is no conspiracy.

If being reassessed for PIP, yes some people won't qualify, because the criteria are different, but others will qualify for an increased award. Again, there is no conspiracy.

Unless you've done something wrong, like misrepresenting your disability or not reporting changes of circumstances for instance, then you have nothing to worry about. The DWP have too much on their plate with the PIP changeover to be staging a mass conspiracy going after genuine claimants in order 'get them off benefits'. They still will chase those they believe to be fraudulent, but other than that you've nothing to worry about.

so when I go on Monday they could tell me im being reassessed for my DLA ?-

( if in a PIP area then they'll be assessed for PIP, if in a DLA area, then they'll be reassessed for DLA. )

and this will happen on Monday????

now im getting worried again !

The reality is that we can't tell you what will happen. Only that if they currently suspected fraud, you'd be at an IUC. As has been pointed out, you can be reassessed at any time - we can't reassure you that you won't be reassessed because we don't know. And we can't tell you you'd get PIP, as we don't know your circumstances.

We're all (those on DLA) facing the natural worry that comes with reassessment, as we all will have to be reassessed for PIP whether sooner or later.

Firstly, if you were genuine in your DLA claim and have had no changes since, then even if you are reassessed for PIP at some point, your award should continue until you get your result. With regards to PIP, take a look a the criteria and count the points as to what you think you will qualify for.

The Compliance officer is not going to be looking at the medical side of your claim, only the admin aspects.

No, as was said before, several times, they'll be looking at the administrative side. A compliance officer has no remit to assess at the rate of DLA you are receiving.

But you will sooner or later be transferred from DLA to PIP and will be reassessed at some point.
