I have received a letter telling me my appearance at court is required in regards to an outstanding debt. I was told to pay 150 per month to which in responded saying in could only afford 80. I have now received this letter stating that a date, time and place of hearing will be received soon. Im new to this so I don't know what to expect. I'd like to be prepared so can anyone advise me of what im likely to expect?

Thanks

No this is a RBS loan

Ah right, thanks.

I have moved you to the Legal Forum which might be better for you.

The guys will be along as soon as they are available but from what you said it may be to attend an oral examination of means to establish what level of repayment is set. If this is it then these are carried out under oath.

Does the document you received say it is for an oral examination?

Ok I think you may need to give the full details of what is happening.

Who told you to pay £150? The court or the creditor?

Have you previously received a claim form which you have acknowledged?

Has this ever been to court?

Full story and timeline would be useful for the guys to be able to help you.

I received the n91 and filled it in. This included my income and expenditure. At the time I could only afford 30 but since then things have improved hence I can now pay 80. The initial offer was rejected and I was ordered to pay 150. I then contacted the court who informed me I had to explain in writing. I did so and now we are at the point previously stated

I think you will need to take bank statements, Income & expenditure (probably best to have National Debtline help you produce one). But probably best you wait on the General Order from the court as they will tell you what you need to do and when.
