Hiya,

hope that anyone can advice me what to do.

I have a Virgin credit card and a MBNA credit card and

I have been on a repayment plan with them since April 2013.

I have been paying them an agreed reduced amount every month.

I tried to login on my online accounts since yesterday and I keep getting this message:

Based on the current status of your MBNA credit card account,

access to this feature of Online Card Services is not currently available.

Please call our Customer Services Representatives on 0800 062 062 for further information.

Then I just get some basic information about my accounts and

I can see the last statements were issued in September 2013

and there has been issued no statements for October 2013.

September's statements show a correct balance

but when I click on October, its shows that the new balance is £0

and the minimum payment is £0.

I owe more than £3000 to each company.

I am not sure what is going on because I haven't received any correspondence regarding this matter.

Could it mean that my debt has been sold to DCA?

I am not able to pay online by Debit card but I can pay by BACS.

I'm not sure whether I should wait and see what happens

or whether to continue paying them into their bank accounts?

Hope anyone can advice me.

Thanks.

Robert.

hi rob.

I think you've guess correct about it being put up for sale.

that's typical of MNBA now.

they dump the bad accounts.

usually they go to Activa Kapital [A kleeners]

there are several threads on here regarding them

and in the financial legal forum.

yes sadly they quickly go for SD's and court judgements.

however, I bet its yet to be brought

its a bit quick for that yet.

they'lll be on a 'phishing list' now for debt buyers to purchase.

you shold at some point

get a notice of assignment etc etc.

if you can still pay via backs do so .

when you get the letters

pop back here.

your cra file might well give you more info

see below.

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi dx,

thanks for your reply.

I am just not sure whether I should continue paying MBNA directly

or whether I should wait until I hear from DCA?

The current status on my credit card accounts says that there is no payment due.

I don't want to stop making payments but I don't want to get it lost and want to get it applied to my accounts.

I hope I won't be invited to the Court,

that would be a problem for me because I have recently moved to Europe.

I have been using a UK mailing company (virtual UK address) for all my creditors.

Hope I'll be able to come to some payment arrangement with DCA.

Sharocker- I am not sure about it, will be interested to see what the others say.

Thanks for that.

Can anyone else please advice me what would be the best thing to do?

MBNA don't know my new EU address,

they only know my UK correspondence address (virtual address).

They don't know I've moved abroad.

I am not sure whether it would be better just wait and see what happens

until I will be contacted by DCA

and try to come to some payment arrangement

or whether continue paying MBNA directly

(but that doesn't make sense for me as the outstanding balance is 0).

I am not sure whether it would not be better to let them know I moved to Europe

just to make sure they don't obtain CCJ against me?

But on the other side I am worried to give them my new address abroad because I don't really want to end up in a local court if they apply for an European Enforcement Order.

Thanks.

they cant get a ccj whilst you are abroad

you just get it setaside.

assuming you get the papers.

pers i'd be forgetting about the debt.
