About a year ago i took out a harmless (or at least i thought) £80 PD loan to help tide me over. Since then my finances have just gone down hill resulting in more and more payday loans being taken out to the point where i am now relying solely on PD loans to get by, for example i had to take another loan from PDUK for £100 today just to pay my car insurance!! please could someone help me, I have loans with wonga, PDUK, Quickquid and also PD express and it's really starting to get to me :(

And also, are they allowed to contact me at work are can i tell them to stop??:???:

Thanks in advance :)

Marv

I think it's probably time you join the growing numbers here and jump off the payday loan merry-go-round.

I feel a little lazy saying this... But your best bet is spend a couple of hours reading through the forums here for different payday loans. There's a load of useful advice here. My own thread "payday express refuse to be part of my dmp" has attracted a fantastic amount of useful advice.

Some good advice for now... To start you off.

1. Open a brand new bank account. Different bank. Basic account. Request that your salary or income be paid into this new account.

2. Email or write to ALL lenders advising them that you are in financial hardship and that you won't be making your rollover payment this month. But offer them what you can afford towards the original loan amount plus 1 months interest. Ask them to freeze interest and add no further charges. Also include a paragraph in the letter or email requesting that they remove your work number from their files.

3. NEVER phone them or answer the phone to them. They will harass you and try to manipulate you in the phone.

Chances are they will phone you at work... They will tell you that they can and will use any number that you provided to contact you. Again... Send a telephone harassment letter to each of them (recorded delivery) hopefully they'll refrain from contacting you on your work number. If any do phone. Advise them that you will only deal with them in writing and if they continue to call you at work.. Report them to the OFT.

I have found, a lot of them use automated message phone calls. So when I answered the phone, I got messages asking me to call them back. When I didn't answer the calls on my mobile the landline would ring straightaway.

Hopefully this has helped for starters. I was as nervous as you when I first started out. The advice you'll receive from here will be very beneficial. Keep us all updated on how you are getting on with each company :)

Ohhh you're definitely not alone.

I thought exactly the same as you when I joined here the end of last year. Thought I'd be judged for being an idiot for touching these companies with a barge pole. Not here!!

Although not all of your lenders are the worst of the worst... Quick Quid will be the ones who haunt you the most (they were with me, but have heard that they do now consider payment plans... Maybe they are chilling out a bit!), Wonga - thankfully they declined me (although I've since learnt that if Wonga do decline you, then your credit score must be trashed to bits :( lol) plenty of stories on here of Wonga accepting plans when you copy in their head guy onto email communication - errol someoneorother. Pduk - I never got round to applying to them... Again, a lot of threads here re: them.

And finally, PDE... I'll let you know tomorrow. They've been really arsey with me so far but I now have a named contact there who seems to want to work with me. So hopefully will have a reply to share from him on my own thread tomorrow.

Take care. And please don't suffer any sleepless nights over this. You are amongst friends now.

We are all in the same boat! Grab an oar!!! :)
