My son and partner is about to purchase a house (first time) and the house they've got their minds set on has apparently been flooded on two occasions. This is from neighbour reports.

I know the House Buyers Pack has stopped now but has the seller still got to give all such details before time of purchase.

If not, then how can I find out for certain what insurance claims have been made by the previous owner?

No, and you cant, would be my guess. I would advise a full structural survey is carried out, as well as some "test" home insurance quotes.

look on Environment Agency website for flood risk/ flood maps.

or you get Flood risk assessment done by a consultant; cost about £150-200.

Structural survey wont tell about flood risk, but may tell you how well its been repaired.
