I changed my address with the bank that sold me a home insurance policy and they continued to charge me, I wrote to question this and they demanded proof I had moved despite my accounts being changed. They continued to charge me. The term expired eventually but I want the premiums refunded. What can I do? I've written again to no reply?

Is there a letter to send or a court proceeding I need to set up. Please advise.

Just write to the Insurance department with proof of the date you moved. The bank that handle your account and the Insurance department will be totally separate. You can't just advise your banking branch of your change of address and expect a Insurance contract to be cancelled.

We could do with some help from you.

Thanks Unclebulgaria, I did this in the first instance but without enough clarity of the exact date I left the property apparently. Time to start again and get the official letters I guess. The bank told me changing my address would cover the policy too and the insurers subsequently used the banking address to get in touch with me.

My negligence but I expected they would do what they said.

Thanks though; you have given me the push to begin again.
