hmmm we could think about this on quite a few different levels.

on the one hand, making new years resolutions is a pointless exercise, never kept and contribute to feeling extra miserable come the end of January.

not to make one is the ultimate in 'i've given up and can't be arsed' which is also not a particulalrly pleasent objective.

then there's the 'aim low' and don't be disapointed strategy.... not quite my scene i'm afraid.

(did someone have a pop at me earlier today for over analysing stuff?)

I reckon the best response is a positive challenge...

for example.....

last year the charity that I chair set a target of raising £3000 in 12 months. We'd hit £4000 after just six months. So I might set an 'resolution' to make our charity the most successful one in our twon. That would mean generating a turnover of about £9k in a 12 month period....

or I could opt for spending less time here!

Don't really think there's any point in making this one........

.........do you???

Yeah, I know what you mean!! I too must try and spend a little less time on here during the day, but I'm certainly not making it a resolution.

that's the thing isn't it - some of the afternoons last week (or was it the week before) we're genuinely some of the funniest exchanges I can recall. You keep popping back wondering if it will happen again and not wanting to miss out if it does.... and bang another day has disapeared!

Guest Battleaxe

Dayglo,

May your home be blessed with laughter,

May your life be restored to what it was

May your mission be successful

May your courage never fail.

Dear all,

This is likely to be my last post on CAG for a while. (probably for good).

I'd like to say thank-you to those of you that either helped with the mission or made me smile along the way (one or two of you managed both!) :)

This is not the end of my mission, just the end of the thread about it.

I'm sorry I won't be around to carry on helping (if you can call it that) others with their missions.

I will be keeping in touch with one or two people out there in the real world and if anyone is interested in what happens in court on March 23rd, I'm happy for them to let you know.

CAG has been a significant part of my life since I joined last summer and I tried to give back through helping others as much as I have been helped along the way.

I wish everyone the very best of luck and a prosperous 2007.

Thanks again and good-bye.

DG.
