paying dca more than original monthly on no arrears

missed two payments, missed one then forgot, then missed the other (not DD's) and quickly rang and paid both, only to be told sorry, you now have to pay it all and to a dca who then insisted on an arrangement, paying more than my payment to creditor, no letter of assignment, who owns this debt now anyway?

i would guess the oc still owns it, given the lack of default, termination, and assignment letters.

a diy storecard, I asked where the letter of assignment was if the original creditor no longer owned the debt, neither they or the dca knew what I was talking about, the dca said that they had been asked to collect the whole amount and I had no choice but to pay them and make an arrangement with them, the original creditor refused to take payment from me despite at one point saying that they would 'take it back' from the dca when I paid the missing instalments? confusing, I rang dca then rang creditor back who changed tack and refused outright to take payment but could 'put me through' to the dca? dca then said only if I paid within 5 days of receiving the letter which I received 2 days ago, and is still in the 5 day period of their letter which threatens court action and adds on charges.

I agree with PGH. If they want to play games then you play them too.

 

It wouldn't surprise me to find that the DCA is the original creditor by another name. If you want to name names we can check.
