I have received a rejection of a parking ticket that was issued by Ealing Council for parking in a loading bay. I had appealed on the grounds that the words "Loading Bay" did not appear on the road (only the "Loading Only" signpost was present). The council have rejected the appeal and have stated that the words "Loading Bay" on the road "is optional under the Traffic Signs and Regulations Act". Can anyone confirm if this is indeed optional?

Thanks

Can you supply some pics of the loading bay and the signs and lines.

Include the bay end markings at both ends and the view down the outside of the bay.

As a comment from the council is they would say that would'nt they?
