Lou petitioned for BR herself, which means that the OR has already received all that info via the "Statement of Affairs" the was presented with the petition at court.

A telephone interview in a simple self petitioned case normally involves a review of the info already submitted, filling in any gaps or clarifying anything that is unclear, and an informal discussion of the whys and wherefores of how you got there.

I'm pretty certain there are no major issues to discuss in this case, so the interview is likely to be quite brief and straight forward. :)

A BRO is very unlikely, and any IPA (even if there is one) will only take a % of excess income so is nothing to fear.

You were right Fermi - that's exactly what it was like. No IPA, no BRO and everything was so straightforward and the man was really nice. I waffled a bit but I was honest and told him everything he asked. He didn't even mention my Income and Expenditure except to say that an IPA wasn't likely and not a BRO because like you've told me ALL ALONG it's to do with gambling and fraud. Also, if Lloyds allow I can keep my account as it is. I was £6 o/d yesterday for 24hours and I was cacking myself!

I can only echo what everyone else has said. You took some brave steps to sort things out the best way you could. That's nothing to be ashamed of or beat yourself up about. But a bit of guilt is natural, and if you didn't feel that then there would be something wrong.

Lots of people feel down after BR. I did at times. But it does get better. :)

It does get better I have been terrified but it does get easier.

I hope your are feeling better. Keep posting, since everyone wants to know how you get on and help you through any more of the difficult times.

I am so glad I met everyone here and got so much support. I am actually looking forward to 2008 a lot more now. I need to go on that diet now. And find my man!

Take care...

An update

I've always been an outspoken person and I do come across as angry quite a lot. I have learnt to curb my temper a bit since starting my new job - I'm a bit hoity-toity is the word. Mainly with strangers. People I know I tend to step back from and let them talk down to me a little. Not this year.

I'm still in my job - dealing with complaints. Yesterday morning was horrendous, the afternoon was fine. All jobs have ups and downs and I have to accept that. I had a one-to-one with my boss this afternoon and my feedback on the whole was very good.

On the BR side of things - I feel so much stronger now. I had my OR interview last Friday and this week has been great. I went shopping on Sunday for the first time in ages and it was lovely and had pizza while I was out. My diet was "supposed" to start this week but I have said that I'll get this week out of the way and then do it. One thing at a time. I've had a great week - my favourite TV show returned so I had a nice evening last night. This weekend I am going to chill out and maybe go for a nice drive because I was working last Saturday. I feel a bit different - even going to Tescos today was lovely because I knew I had cash in my purse but I was careful with my spending. I got some nice steak so my mum and I are having a treat tomorrow - I'm cooking and I have a great shift tomorrow - 8-4 so I love that.

I'm not saying actually going bankrupt is easy but the afterwards, I mean after the OR interview is a lot better than I thought it would be. This is my year of weight loss, becoming more assertive and love. In that order!

Thanks for reading LOL

Helllooooooooooooooooooo

Well, it's been a month since I was last here. I've now been BR over two months. I can't believe how quickly it's gone. I don't know about how I'll feel when I need a mortgage or am struggling to pay for a holiday but....BR has been a new start for me.

I no longer shake profusely when the phone rings or the doorbell goes, I get little to no post, my phone is always somoene I know on the other end and basically I don't have a lot to complain about apart from my job, which I hate - but who doesn't really?

I've done the diet thing and lost about half a stone already, I eat better, I sleep better, I am more positive, less moody and am more motivated than I have been in a long time. My new bank account should be open this week. It's the Co-op's fault I applied three weeks ago - I won't go into it again - you can read it on MSE if you want - my username is the same there. It's a case of now speaking to my loved ones and money not being the sole topic of conversation. My best friend phoned me the other day and I was like "erm....what do I say. Not a lot to whinge about darling, it's lovely"

As for the above post. I am a changed woman. I feel better in myself. I have a long way to go. I need to be more active because I've been used to staying in and not really taking care of myself but I am getting there and the winter is a prime factor that after work you just want to come home to the warm.

Thanks to all the people who've been so nice and gave me advice.

I'll update again soon

love Lou x

^^^God knows! Hahahahaha - did I sound self-centred? Sorry.

My main conversation was about money! It's refreshing that it's not any more.

I just went for some retail therapy. I've had a rather productive day - it's not like me.

Nice change x

Hello TT! How are you? It is to a point - I have a little list of things to do this year

1. Lose 2-3 stone (it's not loads but it's enough) and get fit

2. Save for a holiday - I'm going hopefully in June but I want to go to America next year - it's a lifelong dream

3. Find a new job - a permanent one

4. Be more motivated - health, looks etc., travel a bit - not stay in and stew!

5. This is a HARD one - find a man - or at least out myself put there and be more confident and hope he finds me!

6. Get my own place - that's something that's not incredibly important to me just yet but I'd love to have my own little house/flat (at my age I should've moved out about 15 years ago, I'm 34 in June) - I have done it but it didn't work out the first time

All in good time. Nice to have PLANS! LOL

Well as we know a todo list is always good. Just cause the things are listed in that order does not mean they have to be done in that order.

Mine never are.

Hi Lou

Glad to see life is so much better now. Bet you walk more upright now without all that weight on your shoulders.

As GM says, its good to have a wish list, just take it one step at a time and all will happen one day.

Good luck and pop back soon.

Hi Lou, great to hear things are starting to work out. I am sure you have suffered from the same sort of depression that many of us have on here, without even realising it.

You have tackled the biggest issue, you need to draw strength from that and build on it.

Keep in touch.

That is lovely to hear. :)

As I have said, that is what keeps me posting. My own situation was obviously different, but the relief and chance for a new start is the same.
