ain, including on the official websites of the companies concerned. BES Utilities takes the issue of treating customers fairly, as well as corporate and social responsibility, very seriously. You can find more information about this on our website, www.besutilities.co.uk. We’re here to help customers who have a query or complaint about the service they’ve received from BES and you can send any concerns to our dedicated team at: [email protected]. As you can appreciate, it’s difficult for us to assist customers if they post online but don’t talk to us directly, as we need to verify account details, etc. Regards,

ly outside that individual’s trade, business, craft or profession; BES Utilities supplies gas and electricity to commercial customers only and therefore these Regulations are not relevant in this case. Several members of staff post from the BES Utilities admin account, hence these posts are not from one named individual; however, any response to queries received into our forums mailbox include personal contact details. -

e to compensate the consumer for charges over the basic rate'. So, BES Utilities poster (who still hides behind a veil of anonymity) can you confirm that BES Utilities 0844 number is charged at the basic rate and, if it is not charged at the basic rate, will you be changing the telephone number to comply with the law and automatically refunding any of your customers who have had to use the 0844 number since 13th June 2014? According to the Which website customers who have had to use a surcharged number for services they have bought, or to deal with a complaint, they have an automatic legal right to claim back the money from the compan -
BES Telecom, suspected Mis-selling

Having been conned, lied to and bullied by a broker into signing up with BES Utilities for our gas and electric earlier this year and having had an almighty battle with them to escape a 5 year contract we were surprised to receive a phone call from Ben from BES Telecoms yesterday saying that as we were a customer of BES Utilities we were entitled to receive a really good deal on our internet and phone lines from BES Utilities. Take it from me they do not like hearing the truth about what an appalling company they are! Needless to say we declined Ben's offer and are now in the process of submitting a formal complaint to BES as we do have it -
ow it was the Utilities and Telecoms Awards ceremony last night and BES Utilities were actually a finalist in the 'Treating Customers Fairly' award category. For some strange reason though they did not win the award on this occasion. Perhaps some of the judges had been reading some of the threads on Consumer Action Group and other similar forums. Perhaps they will try again next year and make a big thing about the fact that they are sponsoring the Blackpool Illuminations in 2014 and half the cost of them in 2015. So if you do go to see the illuminations this year at least you can be happy in the knowledge

someone help me intervene with a contract that I was bullied into through BES Utilities. We moved into our Guest House on 1st May 2014. This was a bank holiday weekend and we were extremely busy. We were contacted by UK Energy (this is the company BES have advised us was the broker that sold us the contract) on 2nd May 2014 who tried to sell us gas & electric. I said that I was too busy to talk as we had only just moved into the business the day before and I was trying to deal with guests who were already in the guest house and other guests who were due to arrive later that day and that they would need

mber 2013 and by the middle of Sept he was inundated with phone calls from BES Utilities. My husband's English isn't very good so the last call he received he gave them my number for me to speak to them. When I took the call it was my understanding that they had already spoken to my husband and he had agreed to something with them. They went through the whole process of giving me the numbers etc and that my hubby's business would have a standing charge of 0p etc with Npower and would be charged X amount for usage. I did explain that he would be using very little gas, but the rep was very persistant and eventually
