  4. hi shifnal , my carer also had the same letter , and even though is stated on the letter at home or jobcenter , this lady knocked our door twice while family were down and my carer had been told his nan had died , this lady didnt care , so i rang her and her phone was so i left a voicemail to say how rude she was etc , so he had to go into the jobcenter by 9.30pm the following morning he said he was asked a lot of questions but it was due to him trying a work trial to see if he could juggle caring with a part time job they reckon they didnt recieve the letter off him , so now he has to send in 6 months bank statements and pay back any over money due i dont ever think these letters are for what they say they are , "We are checking to see if you are geting the right amount of benefit" as if its from the goodness of there heart , if it says on top "Compliance Officer" then they have allegations against you , but dont be bullied by these people there not worth it
  5. Hi I was hoping someone can help me , I'm so furious my cousin who is my carer , he ended up becoming my carer because my auntie thought he was hanging about with the wrong sort , . So he moved 300 miles to live with me , it was supposed to be for 6 months but it's worked very well and it's been 2 years now , He had a letter from DWP saying we need to visit at your house or u can come into the job centre He rang up to say his nana had died and his perants were on the way down to collect him for funeral etc , She still knocked the door twice !!, Asked me if shane lived with me and I ended up losing it and when she said to me AGAIN Can I speak to him I said "his perants are here and I think what you are doing is very disrespectful" and I shut the door , He went with his mother into town and he said he was there 5 mins and this lady rang him up and said "we actually do have a spare appointment tomorrow morning about allegations if you don't come in your money will be stopped , And also 3 months bank statements , And also asked for his nana name and where she died and her date of birth !! He was a mess Why are they doing this ?
  6. Im really sorry Dx100uk I honestly thought I'd done a new post My apologies
  7. HERE IS MY ORIGINAL EMAIL I SENT : THE ONE THAT CREDIT4CARS RIPPED ME OFF WITH , Firstly I find it very strange how your your company director "John Aldred Webster" was first Director for C4C Ltd On 1st October 2012 and Resigned on 31st March 2016 Director For Avelo On 24th June 2015 And Resigned On 2nd March This man has been a director for a LOT of finance companies and all the same time This Has Got me questioning how shady C4C ltd Being taken on by Avelo , And it's NOT just me who thinks this way , I've got a solicitor going through my contract papers with "Credit 4 Cars" NOT yourselves I've NEVER signed ANYTHING FOR YOU , Also there is a lot of people saying there payments haven't shown up on your system , Another things that has arisen is that they charged me over £500 for some contraption to turn my car off if payments were not made , Clearly there is NO device attached to my car Before my crash I'd payed over £1300 to have that car fixed properly only to discover after the crash My mechanic was disgusted to see that the car had previously been in a crash there was nothing but filler holding that car together , I've paid you well over the price there worth already I've paid £2850 !! And that includes payment for a bogus tracker they said was on there , (So that will be going to court on its own and the car being previously rebuild with filler) Ive had a lot of people also say to me that when you took the debt over from credit4cars you had contacted them with a new contract with a MUCH lower APR !! , the car is at this moment stuck in my mechanics garage and I'm paying storage fees , I think it's fair to say that we are quits with each other either hand over ownership or I'll VT the car and the repucussions about being misold a tracker system etc and the car full of filler will follow , I await to hear back from you THE REPLY I RECIEVED THIS MORNING I am writing in correspondence to the recent message we received from yourself. I will be initiating a complaints process for yourself to address all the concerns that you mentioned. I note the following in regards to your complaint: · You were concerned that Avelo had the same director as Credit 4 Cars. I can assure you that Avelo and Credit 4 Cars do not have any of the same Directors. Outside of that, this does not affect your financial obligation towards the Agreement as you still remain liable. · You stated that you do not have an Agreement with Avelo as you signed your contract with Credit 4 Cars. For some ease of reference, I can inform you that all accounts were legally assigned over to Avelo under clause 11.9 of the Agreement. This provides Credit 4 Cars with the power to assign your Agreement over to another business (Avelo) under the same Terms and Conditions. · You state that other customers were complaining that their payments have not shown up on our systems. I cannot discuss other accounts with yourself nor does this concern your Agreement. I can assure you that all your payments should be accurately reflecting on your account. If you have any evidence to the contrary, please provide. · You were concerned with the immobiliser installed in your Vehicle. In regards to the installation of the device, you provided your consent as per the Stronghold Agreement insider the original Agreement. Since you are stating that the device is not in your Vehicle, this will be investigated. · In regards to the faults encountered with your Vehicle, this will be passed over to the Avelo After Sales team to investigate as part of your complaint. · Finally, you raised a complaint in relation to the APR present on future correspondence from ourselves. The original loan was calculated on a basic rate of interest using a particular method of calculation. From this basic interest rate and fees, the APR was calculated. When Avelo took assignment of the loans and passed the management of the loan book to Shoosmiths, a change in the method of calculation was implemented in an effort to be more transparent in the way we do business and to allow customers to calculate their payments when they receive communications such as annual statements. The statements therefore showed a flat rate of interest and because the method of calculation was changed, the interest rate (flat rate) reduced to ensure the payments remained in line with the repayments quoted on the original HP agreement documentation. I understand that this may have caused some confusion with customers and could have given the impression that the basic rate of interest had been changed; it hasn’t. It is simply the method of calculation that has changed to try and assist customers and be more clear in the way repayments are calculated. You will of course note that the basic rate of interest and APR is set out on your Agreement and repayments are calculated based on the flat rate. You have therefore not suffered any loss or prejudice as a result of the different calculation on the statements. Following feedback from some customers, the basic rate of interest and APR that was shown on the original HP agreements will now be quoted on all statements and other customer communication in the future. I have opened up a complaints procedure on our end to investigate each complaint mentioned. You shall shortly be in receipt of an acknowledgment letter informing you that we have received the complaint and that we have 8 weeks in order to investigate. Kind regards, Rourke Bulbring Case Handler SHOOSMITHS LLP Did Anyone notice he didnt mention nothing about the storage fees im paying to store my car and that i want to VT it
  8. Hi All As a customer of the former credit4cars i came across this : its about the director of the company John Alfred Webstar I Find it very weird how the Director for credit4cars ltd was also registered at "Avelo" who have taken over Credit4cars ltd Debt , he was first Director for C4C Ltd On 1st October 2012 and Resigned on 31st March 2016 Director For Avelo On 24th Jume 2015 And Resigned On 2nd March This man has been a director for a LOT of finance companies and all the same time This Has Got me questioning how shady C4C ltd Being taken on by Avelo Here Is The Link https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/officers/GgaLADKj1IZeNdLJtUEP-FCvOuE/appointments Any thoughts on this ?
  9. Dr Fox i hear you and i feel it too , i went to buy a jeep and they wouldnt even insure me !! never ever had that before ive been driving 20+ years ! ive now got a 2007 citroen C4 Leob 1.6 16v and im paying £68 a month and i had to pay £180 deposit and i was lucky to get that because on the comparison site the top cheapest quotes were for "Telematics" !! there is no way im driving with a box on my car like ive just passed my test and am ages 17 ! , all this cos of my accident that wasnt my fault , ive asked why are people getting penalised for someone else,s error and they reckon we are more likely to have another accident ???? NO NOT UNLESS some other person not looking jumps out from a roundabout !! a car to me is getting from A to B but the way it all costs i should get taxi,s lol
  10. Kayzer soze, I managed to get the insurance company (third parties) to put the cheque in my name and not my finance , I told them that I would end up with no car as I didn't have the funds to fix it , The woman I spoke to was lovely and she agreed and said that she had to advise me that I had to deal with the finance company myself , I accepted the offer of £2250 and to keep the car , I found out the assessor lied about what needed doing it's a LOT MORE , So I've decided to buy a car , I don't know what to do with my car from the finance company but I'm not paying them they went bust and avelo took over , even the insurance woman stated that she was shocked at how little information they knew about my account , Ive been ripped off badly and Ive paid over the cars value , I just want them to take the car back Also kayzer Because I have to have new insurance I had to declare the accident and apparantly it's up to 25% more , I also am mad because the accident was not my fault , yet in more ways than one we end up suffering long term for someone else not driving properly
  11. Thank You Uncle Bulgaria I truly do appreciate you taking the time to reply Thank you
  12. The car assessor rang me today and first asked me "have you given any perception to the value of your car" I said to him that I was waiting to see what he said first and he replied "Well if you keep the car and repair it yourself the reason why it wouldnt be economic to repair it ourselves as we have to go down a specific route where as you could fix it quite easily" So if you keep the car and also £2,250 does that sound okay to you" I must have made him repeat what he said just incase I misheard , He said "by you keeping the car you could fix it for a small sum as it only needs a wing" , I didn't think to ask him if it would be put into a cat c or D, Will it still be written off and put into a category C or D, ? , I'm paranoid because surely they would have been able to repair it under £2250 ? And I also find it weird how he said to keep the car ? I thought maybe they found out it was still on finance and couldnt be bothered with it ? Because if I have missed anything out I'll ring him first thing in the morning I still owe £2738 on finance even though I paid already £2450 apparently what I've paid already has only just paid off the interest they also want £250 once I finish payments it's a paper to say I want to own the car , the paper should be in 24 carot gold
  13. I haven't said about how I might have been wearing my seatbelt under my arm because I still don't know if I was At the accident I was a mess freaking out (my partner died in an accident so my mind went on a rolledcoaster ) I dont always drive with the seatbelt under my arm it's just somthing I could have done because at the time I'd had a rash on my upper body and the seatbelt was irritating it , Somthing isn't right as it's been 8 days and my arm , shoulder and leg still no change , the other person who was in the vehicle is doing okay now , When I went to hospital they told me as my car had spun around it was likely that I could have taken the brunt of it , All I want is to be like I was before all this happened , I haven't been involved in an accident in 20 years so it never occurred to me "yes someone else can cause it" , Cos I've always been a careful driver , I've just moved to the middle of the countryside and now I'm facing being stuck with no car at all because I'll never be able to afford one hence why I got finance in the first place , All this is making me really low , my niece has come to stay with me and I promised her fun things to do and I can't do nothing , Thank you everyone for your info appreciated
  14. Hi all Anyone with advice I'd be very grateful Last Friday (week ago) a woman just carried on driving at a roundabout and hit my car passengers side and it spun my car facing the other way , She admitted straight away to the police that she was at fault and fair play her insurance contacted me the following day and arranged me a courtesy car and my car to be fixed , I left my car at the car hire place where I had to pick up the courtesy car , I rang the car assessment man who was checking the damage and he told me he was sorry but his report was that my car is to be written off and that the insurance company tesco would receive it in 2 days time (that's the woman,s insurance company is) , I'm worried because I had my car on finance with credit4cars I've paid off £2450 and still hAve £2739 left to pay My cars value is only £1500 as i purchased it December 2014 and it's an 07 plate with over 100,000 miles on it , Will the offer they make me go straight to my insurance because when I rang up the car finance people avelo they said to make sure I tell the car insurance people that it's £2739 and to make payment to them , I'll be left with no car and I'll most probably have to pay the amount left to pay to the car finance as the insurance will not value my car at anything near £2739 , It was my birthday on the Sunday 2 days after my crash I had to cancel all plans because of the pain I'm still in I've got severe pain in my arm and shoulder (I was wearing my seatbelt under my arm) Tesco asked if I wanTed to claim personal injury with them but swinton (my insurance) put me through to carpenters solicitors to sort out compensation for personal injury after reading posts on here I'm not going to continue with carpenters I've only spoken on the phone to them they sent me letter to sign but I haven't yet (thank god) , My question is : I've heard that the insurance pay off your finance and also pay you what your car is worth ? Is this true ? Or will I be left with nothing ? Do they pay the money to the finance company ? Should I claim compensation through her insurance tesco or do I find another company ? Also I have 7 years no claims bonus but people have said my insurance will still go up in premium even though I haven't claimed from my insurance and it weren't my fault is this true ? Sorry for all the questions it's just that I haven't had an accident for the last 20 years so I have no clue what's so ever what happens Thanks in advance
  15. Hi Everyone , i was hoping for some advice , after looking through documentation it seems i was REALLY naive when i took out the credit for my car , i had finance on 10.12.2014 for a renault megane 2007 1.9 DCI To cut it short they charged me £2,350 for the car and the loan amount by credit for cars was £5500 !! i was paying £150 a month , ive paid £2,300 off it , but with all the numerous problems ive had to pay for with the car from the start i stopped paying last month last payment i made was on 17th june and i had to pay via "[email protected] a Guy from avelo emailed me 10th june saying i needed to contact them urgently to discuss arrears (he was a negotiations case handler) i gave him a email back and told them when id make a payment he replied saying "sorry our systems have not been updated and could i ask how you will be making a payment ? and can we have your current phone number" i didnt give him my number but id updated them with my new address and he replied back "thank you ive updated our systems and "are you willing to continue paying £175 per month starting from next month?" i never replied then today i had a different person who was "Trainee Case Handler" asking me to contact the office to discuss arrears (the same like before) The reason i am not making payments is because i cannot afford to , the advice im looking for is Can they take the car away from me ? (on the documents i signed it stated that they could not take the goods if payments totalling £1997 have been made then they may not take the goods back against my wishes unless we get a court order) this is the Credit4Cars agreement i signed 2 years ago , also i have noticed that they charged me £375 for a "Stronghold Protector payment assurance system" they said they can disable my car with it as they reckon a device has been attached , the reason why i say they reckon because when i was late with a payment with C4C they threatened me they were going to disable it , i was not in a good way then and snapped back and replied "be my guest as i dont care" (they did this 3 times to me but never disabled it and also when i asked a mechanic to look for it he said he couldnt see anything , when i chose the car the people at trade center where i bought the car said because i have a tracking device my insurance would go down now when i queried with them what make it was for my insurance they would not tell me so i was paying a LOT more than i should have for my insurance , sorry to have gone on and on its just that the cars wheel bearing has gone and it will cost me £200 tomorrow and if they are going to take back the vehicle then i wont get it fixed , thanks for your time any advice appreciated
  16. Thank You Ever So much Mr.P and Honeybee Also thank you so much for all the help you have given me I can truly say you have put a smile of my face today
  17. He does get carers allowance of £60 weekly (monday) amd they put him on income support of just £26 a week he gets £52 fortnightly , I have even tried applying for credit to pay for one monthly for him but every where I tried said you have to be in full paid employment , I don't know what to do , it's just the fact that because we are in a village wit 1 shop he walks 6 miles to the post office hes gone ages and him having a scooter he would be back sooner so that means more time for himself , Plus his girlfriend and him can't see each other much as neither have transport And it's my fault
  18. i Feel strong about this as im 40 and my auntie sent her eldest son aged 22 years old to live with me im in wales and he was in england to help and also she was worried he was mixing with the wrong crowd , i cannot thank him enough he does EVERYTHING from shopping to cleaning and cooking , his career is on hold and all he wants is a scooter so he can get around quicker as i moved 40 miles away and he moved with me , it literally is so hard for him i have to see him an hour later sweating and he suffers with a bad lung , everytime i try and save you can guarantee i get a bill especially as ive moved , my auntie was telling me that in england he would have had the option to rent out a scooter and charged very little through the jobcenter , hes looked for hired scooters but they wants £250 a week !! does anyone know how he can get some help , i felt bad because he cant run a car its too expensive , he gets £61 on a monday and he only gets £53 and that is fortnightly , he roughly has about £290 a month , hes also paying bills , he has turned down jobs so please anyone with any info on how he can get any help with a scooter id be so happy for him thank you in advance

  22. Yes I moved to a smaller property as I was only using 2 bedrooms and I lived in a 3 bedroom , I'd been living there 16 years too afraid to do anything , you see "Oldcogger" I don't want a pity party but I'm not one of these people who just moan at whatever I possibly can , I grew up with an alcoholic mother who wanted to leave us 4 kids to be with a man in england , I had to get her friend to try and talk her OUT of it , my childhood ended when i was 12 years old , I took care of my 3 brothers so they wouldn't go into care , I went through abuse , the list goes on , my husband was a violent cruel man and my house became my own sanctuary but at the same time , my own prison , I lost a partner due to a motorcycle accident and when you see someone with there head twice as big and there jaw hanging off , YES it would have helped to have some support but I've NEVER had it I'm nearly 40 years old and wasted my life being frightened and I take this opportunity to move and at least try to make my life better , Did you stop and think that maybe during the 65 years of moving your family had HELP in doing so , so therefore didn't really have to pay anything I've got NOBODY and had to pay strangers to take big items from my house , money that was for bills I would have thought a lady of your age or a man , would at least think outside the box as in not everyone has the same situation , Do you think I'd waste my time asking for help on here if I didn't need it !! This new house has electric only so my gas cooker is useless so for most people buying a new one is expensive , Im on benefits yes Your comment "Oldcogger" was just pointless why you felt the need to put other people down then I think it's time to look at your own values !!
  23. Hi I'm in Wales though , I know England do it I feel so bad for my carer he sold his beloved playstation console to carpet the bedrooms , my auntie sent him down from England because she thought he was getting involved with the wrong crowd , he's only 22 and he dragged this carpet he bought all by himself , I'm feeling so guilty as this I was hoping for a new start as I lived neat abusive family , And everything is going wrong , he's put 1200 miles extra on his car when I know it needs servicing That's just going back n forth to the house , it's 87 miles in total going there and back , I'm asthmatic and my allergies are at there worst as I'm allergic to dust (of all things) , How they expect me to fund everything is beyond me , Im negative £60 in my bank and England are very understanding about all the extra money that arises from moving , Wales im sad to say are not I've searched and searched and I can't seem to find anything about financial help Thank you for looking though mickymack
  24. Hi I'm hoping someone may have some advice for me , I've recently moved into a smaller council property I had a 3 bedroom but only needed a 2 bedroom , they found me a house transfer , My housing officer said they would help with removals etc She was only a temp When I rang them asking for help i was told "no and that I should apply for a budgeting loan from the social fund" I explained to the man that I had only 2 days to move and he said "sorry nothing we can do" I've spent ALL my bill money just moving here as it's 40 miles away , I still have stuff at the old property , I know in england they actually pay you for downgrading to smaller property with less bedrooms , But here in Wales I'm stuck It will take 2 weeks or more for a budgeting loan to go through and my bills need paying 3 days ago , I had to pay "a man with a van" who someone told me about I paid him £70 to move the sofa and fridge etc , Plus the new house I'm at now does not have gas it's electric only and my oven was a gas cooker so I've had to leave it at the old house , I'm living day to day but it's getting to the point I cannot sleep it's 4.15am and I don't know what help if there even if there is any? Any help I'd really appreciate it all
  25. Hi all My dentist left a year ago and One that has replaced her is just awful , first of all , all the work my last dentist said she was going to do has gone with my dentist , I went to see the dentist 6 months ago and she put some temporary filler in one tooth and told me to make an appointment to have my back tooth taken out , 3 times they cancelled on me , When I finally went she looked and said okay I'll refer you to have it taken out , I said "I thought you were going to do it" she said "I won't be able to because of the state on it , it might crack into pieces" I asked how long for the referral and she said 3 months , I said that's long and she said "your lucky your not in Liverpool it's 18 month waiting list there" and gave me a prescription for anti biotics and ushered me out , Then today I was brushing my teeth when I felt my front tooth came apart (I'd arranged with my last dentist who left and she was going to do crown work on them she did one front tooth and it's been amazing) She said when I rang "are you in pain and I said a little and that it was quite sharp and she gave me an appointment for 2 weeks" I mean it's my front tooth I know I'm on benefits and unable to pay for dental work , that's all I've ever wanted is being able to smile I'm nearly 40 and lost hope I was excited when my last dentist was going to crown my front teeth but that's gone now Can anyone suggest anything I can do , I have a gap and knowing the dentist I've been given she will just fill it like last time , Is there a company in the UK that will let you gave dental work based on your income ? Or can anyone suggest anything I'm so desperate and thanks in advance
