One of the directors was involved with BCW originally it states....so knowing BCW as well as i do, no chance of this new lot having any luck collecting debts then
-
Perhaps other DCA's were chasing them for the amounts outstanding
-
Its typical behaviour from 3 - they have no sense of good customer relations whatsoever.

They ve already been warned by the OFT....so the more complaints they get about them the merrier -
"Collections performance was strong" - it was until CAG had them on the radar

1st credit response to CCA in dispute letter
mr.ton replied to Blue Boo's topic in Debt Collection Agencies
Its typical of how 1st Crud operate...they have no regard for rules or regulations. Refuse to answer security questions if they ring you & report them to the OFT/trading standards. -
Firstly stop speaking to them on the phone & refuse to answer security questions if they ring you. Insist everything must be in writing only. They have no legal powers to money off you whatsoever, only a county court does. Ive dealt with CSL myself before - their bark is bigger than their bite. They just rely on threats to intimidate you into paying up. You have tried to make payment & they refused, therefore their greed has now resulted in them receiving nothing at all

The CRA's are best buddies with the DCA's, so in order to get this removed you are gonna have to start playing dirty & getting as many authorities as you can involved including the OFT,trading standards, financial ombudsman & the info commissioner. If you let them fob you off they will. Threaten the CRA with legal action also if they dont remove the info.

Cabot/restons Claimform - old Halifax Credit Card 'debt'
mr.ton replied to joel.hall's topic in Financial Legal Issues
Its the same worthless threats on different notepaper It will cost them money to take you to court & a judgement would be made for what was in your best interests financially (£1 per month etc...) So why DCA's see going to court as a bad thing on the debtors part is beyond me? Anyway..if they ring you, refuse to answer their security questions & report them to the OFT/trading standards if they dont go away after being told to.- 75 replies

They can send someone to collect the debt all they want...unless instructed by a court, it will be a wasted journey as they can simply be told to go away
-
SRJ are a bunch of clowns... I had them chasing me last year - needless to say they got nowhere & gave up. All DCA's are the same...if you dont give them the time of day & simply tell them were to go, they soon crawl back under their rock.
-
Arent you lucky? - BCW havent offered me such similar schemes
-
How does that violin tune go now?

Yes i agree..the police are public servants & will do as they are told/ordered to do by the public, who are their employers at the end of the day

Tell Iqor to get lost. They have no legal powers to money off you - only a county court does. Refuse to answer their security questions if they phone you. Report them to the OFT if you wish....

Report them to the OFT & trading standards.

1st credit letter can you help me please
mr.ton replied to janice514's topic in Debt Collection Agencies
Yes..do nothing till then & then hit 1st Crud with the stat barred letter -
Lets hope they make a quick exit...out of business
-
BCW are fools & easily dismissable...i have them on my case now
-
You are now someone who knows your rights..so i doubt you will hear from them again
-
Moorcroft have not fulfilled their obligation to supply you with a CCA....so you are well within your rights to stop payments/not pay them any longer.... Send them this: Dear Sir/Madam Account number.................... You have failed to comply with my request for a CCA. I now deem your continuing demands for payment from me as harrassment. Your continued harassment of me by letter & telephone puts you in breach of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. If you continue to harass me, I will report you to Trading Standards & The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine. If neccessary, i will seek police advice & an injunction. I trust i make my position clear. Yours faithfully, PRINT NAME DO NOT SIGN.
-
Yes..you need to find out of they have the right to be collecting on this debt in the 1st place? If they cant produce anything then id consider demanding a refund & also reporting them to the OFT/trading standards.
-
If anyone turns up (highly unlikely) then tell them to go away as they have no legal powers to money off you - if they refuse, then simply ring the police. Oh & their court threat is just that, a threat, to scare you into paying up. Report these rogues to the OFT & trading standards also....
