Anybody know who CDR is of emery Rd brislington

As some of you will know i have been receiving mail for a past mate who stayed with me a few weeks ..I have just been returning everything with not known at this address ..Now this morning a letter comes through my door from the above people ..They have not placed it in the envelope properly and i can see the top line which reads ..Power of attorney the royal bank of scotland ..Does this mean anything bad as in they will come to my house or have a hold on my house ?? Sorry have never had debt before other than my mortgage So dont know the ins and outs of it ..I have also posted this letter back this afternoon telling them not known this address ..Is there anywhere i can write to so can stop the letters even getting to my address ?? :x

if it not got your name on it just return to sender (not know at this address). if it has then open and tell us all

anything u get through with his name on it just keep doing the same, send it back, i assume he got no attachments of any description on your property (that you know of) ?

it dont have my name on ..is for my old so called mate ..just worried they try to blacklist me or take anything from my house with it being headed power of attorney..maybe just legal jargon though

attachments ?? He only stayed with me as a stop gap for a few weeks ..When the letters first arrived he told me they were debts from years ago and he wondered how they got my address but his new bank account was at my address so maybe thats how !!

don't worry about it then. you have no problem, just keep doing what you are doing, if you feel like you are getting harrassed by it make a complaint to ICO, if you have nothing to do with you "mates" debt then you are clear and free

better still do you have an address of where he is now? if so give it to them if not just send it back

dont know where he is now ..last i heard he was living in london but he gets about some !!

ok, just do what you are doing, don't open it and write not known at this address. they cant touch you with a 100,000 mile barge pole!

if it got address on back of envelope (usually a P.O Box number) write a letter to that address saying u keep receiving letters and you keep returning them (un-opened) "this is notification that you do not KNOW this person and please STOP sending mail to this person, I do not know him and do NOT have a forward address for him.

that should put end to it

Personally, if I had been so kind as as to give someone a place to stay.... and then got landed with a load of mail from debt collectors... I would be either :

 

1. Redirecting to a forwarding address.

2. Opening them in order to see what the hecky pecky he/she had landed me with.

i see wat u say P1 but i wouldnt open them, just send back as is, they might consider sommit like fraud or alike and hammer even more if u see where i'm commin from, we know DCA's and their tactics

If nastygrams are coming to my home, then I will take it upon myself to stop it. I'm done with living in fear... especially when it's got nothing to do with me anyway.

 

Andy... you need to have a serious word with your mate, if you have not already done so. Do you know where he is ?

lol how true "I'm done with living in fear" just remember the "newbies" who have found CAG and are still living in fear, besides the point really, andy1 don't know where "mate" is, london area possibly if mail sent back unopened it proove it not you, if opened they could think u fobbin them off, all u gotta do is state "Facts" should they ignore then scan and post letter they send you, i'm sure P1 can rip it apart lol

Up to you what you do, but rightly or wrongly.... if threatening letters were coming to my home, I'd want to know what what I was dealing with. Sounds like your mate already knows.... hence the heated words between the 2 of you... followed by the silent treatment !

yes, whilst I totaly agree P1 we do want to know what going on in our own home but at end of day if not directly involve you i'd stay out, he been screwed by his "mate" and yes it happenend to me once, andy1 can proove who he is (if needed) it up to DCA to investigate (yes they prob not) but if goes through right channels it be ok, last thing anybody wants is to get caught up in some 1 elses problem, as long as you posses "Facts" they can issue court order same thing applies "not know at this address" andy1 don't lie just state the truth, it's upto the DCA to proove otherwise

 

summary- don't get involed with something that dosen't involve you. simple

Let Trading Standards return it for you, with a covering letter from them.

Go to your local post office and ask for all mail in his name (or variations of his name) to be returned immediately as he doesn't live there.

 

I had that a long time ago when somebody previously at my old address moved and was using the address up to 6 months after leaving. I even had the British Transport Police round after her as she hadn't paid her fines for fare dodging on the underground. The letters stopped after they visited.
