Hi all

just about to start a claim against Barclays... but as the title says, my account is based in an English bank, but I currently live in Scotland

I know there's time before all this is required, but where should the claim be going to?

thanks in advance,

Hi and welcome to the site,

:p

You've definately taken the first step into claiming back what's rightfully yours.

Spend time reading the FAQ's and the Step by Step guide as this will stop you making mistakes along the way. Use the letters and spreadsheets in the Templates Library as these have all been tried and tested in successful claims. Read as many threads as you can especially ones that relate to your bank. This is a SELF HELP site and won’t do the work involved for you. However, everything you need is on here somewhere.

Don't be afraid to ask any questions, no matter how stupid they may seem, but please remember that any advice that you receive is normally based on experience only and that you should seek expert advice if required.

Once you start the process of your claim remember to open a thread in the relative bank forum, this will enable you, and others helping you, to keep track of your claim.

All the best in your claim!!

sorry, dar3n... wasn't quite explicit enough. What I meant was where would the court hearing (should it get that far) be? Do I claim at the court local to my branch (Staines, England), or up here (Aberdeen, Scotland)... cos I know there's different rules.

Thanks in advance!

oh sorry, yes it should be allocated near to you, where you reside now.

mine was filed in Northampton transferred to Worcester.

If not you surely would be up for the costs involved in travelling and overnight stay etc.

great- thanks!

I hope that doesn't make things more difficult... especially as I'm moving back down to London in late July... so I've basically 5 months to get sorted.

Onwards and upwards! Sending my account information request in the morning :D

thanks again

Hi Tim,

I was going to suggest that. If you have an England address, and since you're going to here later anyway, I'd issue a claim in the court closest to your future location.
