As Nationwide have put me on notice to close my accounts I have started to investigate possible parachute accounts. Yes I know I should have looked ages ago!

Now, owing to the systematic abuse of power by the banks of their willingness to charge me for absolutely every eventuality, my credit file is shot at and peppered with defaults.

I can't get a Mars bar on credit and so I can only get Basic accounts which is fine by me.

I have yet to confirm this but....

according to a search engine; Co Op Bank operate a cash minder account with no charges for bouncing a DD. If this is true, it could be good news for those who cant get a full bells and whistles account.

Hope it helps.

David

Not correct, I'm afraid. They introduced a charge last year and they will close your account when you bounce a total of about 10 items.

nice to read that even though they do charge for a bounced d/d that they will infact (after 10 breaches or so) tell you to f off, i wish Lloyds had done that to me years ago thus saving me over 2k.

Oops, thanks for that seminole, always worth knowing.

My cheapo glasses didn't do that well with the small print!!

BTW:

Nat west (Slogan - Another Way) found another way to say Naff Off - DECLINED and they had the cheek to say, the decision is not made by the RBS group but by Equifax.

I've always been led to believe that the Credit reference Agencies only supply information, they do not make lending decisions. If this is correct, there is another way of describing natwest......fibbers!! (insert other expletives as necessary)
