I have broadband at home via BT.

The problem started when I did'nt have enough to pay the quarterly charge for the broadband (117.00), they wrote to me asking to pay, but I cannot do this at the moment, therefore they have now landed me with a bill for the whole contract amount (558.00) within 14 days or there sending the boys around.

I know I'm in the wrong, but what can I do, i'm not paying for something I dont have or have had.

Any help appreciated.

Seems pretty heavy handed. Might be an idea to phone and explain there's a temporary glitch and you'd like to ensure neither of you are disadvantaged. You'll need tgo offer to pay something, but it really is at their discretion - and it is a sad reflection on commerce that flexibility is something UK utilities normally lack!
