Major Aurora Alert for May 10/11th & 11th/12th - Strongest Eruptions since October 2003 Predicted - as far south as northern France latitudes and more - GET READY!!

as this 25yrs SunSpot Cycle begins to reach it's Maxima in the coming months/Year, over the last few days there have been over 60 M Solar Flares and numerous very strong X flares on  7/8/9 -05. these are due to hit earth 10/12 May.

 

The stronger the X flare the greater becomes the potential KP number which means the further south a very very strong chance of a very spectacular Aurora becomes.

KP8 equals a latitude of San Francisco (CA, United States) Dallas (TX) Atlanta (GA) and in Europe perhaps even northern France and southern Germany get a chance to see aurora.

that means the WHOLE of the UK could poss have a very very strong Aurora even to the naked eye.

the last time this happened was Oct 2003 now i was not into this stuff then, but looking online....WOW!!

too early yet for me this far north but this aurora is certainly stronger than 2003 everyone with clear skies should be able to see it easily

I woke up to images all over the internet this morning and was left gutted i'd missed it. (North west England).

Could it happen again tonight?

dx, the Aurora Borealis was seen as far south as Lyon which is about two-thirds of the way down France.

The strongest solar flare in nearly a decade has erupted from the Sun, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced on Tuesday.

The mega category X8.7 flare is much stronger than the X2.2 one that erupted last week causing spectacular Northern Lights – or aurora borealis – displays in the UK, US, and most of the northern hemisphere last week.

 

However, the monster flare is not directed at the Earth, meaning sky watchers on Earth may not get dazzling views of auroras from this celestial phenomenon as was possible over the weekend, the agency said.
