I returned an item 30 days ago to amazon and still waiting on a refund of £1450.

The item was returned unopened and amazon have confirmed that they have the returned item.

I have spent numerous calls and chats along with emails and no success.

Any help would be appreciated

Maybe you could give us more information as to why they are delaying the payment. This is very unusual for Amazon. Normally they are excellent so there must be something that they are suspicious about.

Why don't you tell us the whole story and then maybe we can help you.

This is the answer I keep getting from amazon

Hello,

Once the carrier receives your return package, it can take a while to arrive at our Returns Center. In most situations, returns are processed by Amazon in 14 days. In some situations, it may take longer. This additional time allows our Returns Center to find and process the item.

As soon as your return is processed, we request a refund to your payment method and send you an email confirmation.

Once we issue your refund, it takes additional time for your financial institution to make funds available in your account. Refer to our Refunds page for more information:

What was the item and how did you pay? Why did you return it?

Are you prepared to issue legal action if necessary?

Thank you. Have you tried contacting your bank for chargeback? This will be the easiest way to go and although the bank wouldn't be happy about it you seem to have the paperwork and the evidence that the item has been returned and that they have agreed to a chargeback but they simply haven't processed it.
Have you spoken to your bank about this?

Okay, try and get the chargeback. If you get it then please let us know. If you don't get it then start preparing a letter of claim. Post the draft here so we can have a look and then start looking at these links about starting a small claim in the County Court.
On the basis of what you say, your chances of success are 99%.
