in our case they just asked questions and carried out a few very basic tests, partner is asthmatic so they did a peak flow test, he also has problems with his back so they asked him to do things like bend down and try to touch his toes, nothing too invasive. It was nowhere near as bad as we were expecting actually, although it was a little intimidating having someone sitting on our sofa asking loads of questions and writing (or typing, she brought a laptop) loads of things down.

thanks for that he as copd and for the last 8 months hes been on antibiotics and steroids eventually he was to A&E he` been home now for a couple of months he`s improved but still struggles just worried about what there going to ask him to do

If they ask him to do something that he simply cannot do, or which would cause him excessive pain or distress, he should politely explain that to the assessor. He should not do this without good reason, of course, but he should not be expected to suffer as a result of the assessment.

Hi just an update my husband as received the enhanced rate for daily living what i don`t under stand is he received 14 point for 1 question on the mobility but yet they haven't allowed him the benefit for this is there something im missing here.

it says at this time i can`t award you pip for help with your mobility needs but its says moving around scored out of 12 he got 12 in the 2 mobility activities he scored nothing for the planning and following a journey but yet it states is total score for mobility part of pip is 12 points:roll:

HI everyone just like to say yes they had got it wrong he his entitled to the mobility component from the sound of the person on the phone it must happen quite a bit
